I almost forgot to post the update article for this week today but I thankfully managed to remember. This week was rather uneventful, only a few applications have been updated. There are some big names in the list however, like Recuva, Defraggler, Open Office or Joost.
The award for the update of the week goes to Speedfan however. A wonderful utility that regulates the speed of my system fans. I tend to reduce the fan speed to reduce the sound of the fans. I prefer silent systems over performance.
If you know of an application that has been updated but is not included in the list let me know. I will surely check it out and add it to the list if it is a good fit.

Fresh UI 8.03 – a tool to optimize and configure Windows.
Joost 1.1.2 Beta – new version of the Internet TV client.
MediaCoder 0.6.1.4075 – universal audio and video transcoder.
MozBackup 1.4.8 Alpha – create backups of Mozilla applications like Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey.
Mp3tag 2.40a Beta – mp3 tagger.
nLite 1.4.5 Beta 2 – create a new Windows installation CD by removing unwanted components and adding new ones.
Norton Removal Tool 2008.0.3.13 – the best Norton tool ever. Get rid of the bloated software and remove it completely.
OpenOffice.org 2.4.0 RC6 – great replacement for Microsoft Office.
Opera 9.50 Build 9841 Beta – another new beta version of Opera.
Paint.NET 3.30.2993 Beta 2 – image editor comparable to GIMP and Photoshop.
Recuva 1.12.291 – recover deleted files in Windows.
Soundbase 2008.3.17 – music player / tagger.
SpeedFan 4.34 Beta 42 – check temperatures and regulate fan speed on your computer.
Tor 0.2.0.22 RC – Tor is an anonymity client that protects your privacy.
VirtuaWin 4.0 -Open Source virtual desktop manager.
VMware Player 2.0.3 – run virtual machines on your computer.
Wubi 8.04.450 Alpha – excellent installer for Ubuntu Linux that works like the installer of any other application in Windows.
XnView 1.93.1 – a new version of the popular image viewer.
