Week 5 already in 2008 which means that this is already the fifth software updates article. This week has been rather uneventful and only a few applications have been updated. Some applications make an appearance each week, like uTorrent or Opera but this is because those are alpha or beta versions that get updated more frequently.

Media Player Classic 2000/XP 6.4.9.1 – plays lots of videos, SMPlayer is a frontend of Media Player Classic.
MediaMonkey 3.0.2.1133 RC2 – organize your music collection.
Opera 9.50 Build 9755 Beta – a new Beta version of the best browser there is.
Orbit Downloader 2.6.1 – great download manager with lots of functionality and Grab++, a way to download media streams from websites.
PeaZip 1.11 – a universal packer supporting many formats.
Portable Start Menu 1.3 Beta 1 – start menu application for USB sticks
SMPlayer 0.6.0 RC1 Preview 2 – the one and only media player, plays almost every thing that you throw at it without having to install codecs.
Spybot Search and Destroy 1.5.2.20 – search, find and delete spyware on your computer.
Streamripper 1.63 Beta 3 – offers an efficient way to save Internet Radio.

Winpatrol 14.0.2007.0 – monitors your computer and prevents changes from being made unless you accept them.
XAMPP 1.6.6 Beta 3 – an easy to setup web server for your computer running Apache.
XnView 1.92.1 – a fast image viewer.
