If you are an Amazon Prime customer, and who is not really in this day and age, you may know that you get a lot of benefits out of Amazon Prime apart from free shipping for many items on Amazon.

While the benefits depend the region you are in, most Amazon Prime customers do get access to Amazon Prime Video, Photos, and Music, a selection of free Kindle Ebooks and Audible audiobooks, or Prime Reading access.

Amazon introduced Twitch Prime after its acquisition of the games-focused streaming service Twitch and launched Free Games with Prime on Twitch in March of 2018.

Prime customers who link the account to Twitch may download new commercial games that Twitch makes available for free each month. Games like Shadow Tactics or Mr.Shifty were provided for free in the first month.

Starting today and ending on July 31, 2018, new games are available that subscribers may download.

These are:

  • SNK Bundle, July 3-August 2
  • Next Up Hero, July 7-13
  • Uurnog Uurnlimited, July 8-14
  • Hue, July 9- 15
  • Deponia Doomsday, July 10-16
  • Observer, July 11-17
  • Tacoma: July 12-18
  • The Bridge: July 13-26
  • Brutal Legend: July 14-27
  • The Red Strings Club: July 15-21
  • Tyranny: July 16-18
  • Broken Age: July 17-31
  • The Framed Collection: July 18-31
  • Serial Cleaner: July 18-31

The dates indicate when you may download them. The biggest game, that is unfortunately only available over the course of three days, is Tyranny.

Tyranny is a roleplaying game that plays similarly to Baldurs Gates and other RPG classics, only that you are on the bad side this time.

But Tyranny is not the only game that you may snag for free if you are on Twitch on the right day of the month.

Deponia Doomsday by Daedalic Entertainment is a well designed adventure game that is best played after you finish the original Deponia trilogy.

The Bridge is a work of art; it is a puzzle / platformer game at its core. What sets this apart is that you can move your character around and tilt the map itself as well.

The Framed Collection includes both Frame titles. It is an interesting puzzle-game in which you reorder comic panels to avoid danger that comes in the form of cops or the environment.

Serial Cleaner finally is a spiritual follow-up to Party Hard. This time, you clean up after murders take place avoiding cops and other obstacles to get the job done.

How do you get the games?

twitch claim games

Getting the games is rather easy. Note that you keep access to the games after the promo period. Once you claim them, there are yours forever.

  1. Head over to the Twitch website.
  2. Sign in to your account if you have not.
  3. If you have not, link your Twitch account to your Amazon account.
  4. Once you have done so, click on the "Prime Loot" icon at the top (the crown).
  5. Twitch displays all available items and games.
  6. Select "Claim offer". The game is added to the Twitch account.
  7. Repeat this for all games or the games you are interested in.

You need to download and install the Twitch client (Windows) to play the games. Select "My Games" after installation of the client and install games that you have claimed on Twitch. You may play these games after the installation completes.

Closing Words

If you want to grab all games, you may want to claim all offers today and on July 18 as you will be able to claim all games that way while visiting Twitch only twice in the period.

The selection of games in July 2018 includes several high profile games. While you don't get only blockbuster games, the inclusion of Tyranny is a nice surprise and the other games are well designed and have been well received for the most part.
