Automatically download and set Reddit wallpapers on Windows
Reddit Wallpaper Changer is a free program for Microsoft's Windows operating system that pulls wallpaper images from Reddit to set them as the desktop background on Windows PCs.
Reddit is a treasure trove for all kinds of images including wallpapers. The site has hundreds of groups that focus on desktop wallpapers; many cater to different audiences that like space, nature or animal wallpapers, and some are general types of groups.
While you can browse the various groups on Reddit, e.g. the wallpapers group, to download individual images that you like, you can also automate the process if you want.
Reddit Wallpaper Changer
Reddit Wallpaper Changer finds images that match the computer monitor's resolution on Reddit, downloads the one that it picks randomly from the list of results, and sets it as the desktop background of the system.
It stores the wallpapers locally, and skips any duplicate image that it comes across. The default interval in which background images are changed is set to 1 minute; that's fast, but you can change the interval in the application settings. You can change it to any other value in minutes, hours or even days.
The application supports several customization options. You can add or remove groups that the app searches for instance, and change from selecting a random image to top rated, newest, or hottest images instead.
You may also enable the validating of wallpaper sizes to avoid images that are not available in the desired resolution, and disable the fade effect that the application uses.
Wallpapers are saved to a location on the local system, but only temporarily by default. You need to enable the "automatically save all wallpapers" preference under Settings > Wallpaper Settings, to have Reddit Wallpaper Change save those permanently.
The application lists all monitors that it detected in its interface as well. You can define rules for setting wallpapers; the default rule is to stretch the wallpaper, but you may change that to other fitting options such as center, tile or fit.
A right-click on the application's tray icon displays options to favorite or blacklist wallpapers, and to suspend it. There is also an option to save wallpapers which is handy if you don't enable the automatic save option. You may also select to change the wallpaper directly from the context menu.
The history, favorites and blacklisting feature did not work properly during testing. While the options were there to change the status of any image, the application did not list these under favorites or blacklist, and did not record the wallpaper history either.
Closing Words
Reddit Wallpaper Change is a powerful program to change the desktop background image on Windows machines automatically by downloading images from popular Reddit groups. It supports customization of the groups on Reddit, and several customization options for displaying wallpapers.

The main problem with that kind of programs for me personly is that they have mostly concentrated till the level of a kitten and American woman movie people.
And yes they have a percentage of a bit nice world nature pictures but there never of contemporary art of real nice painters (Think pollack) or even the old masters are almost not present. I never fount Volkmar Haase or Émile-Antoine Bourdelle there works, etc. etc.
The day that somebody has only that kind artist their artwork pictures I am in.
I can’t wait for that day and till then I will keep on downloading from musea website (Great resolution sometimes) because they will allow en encouraging you, to do that for free.
I used to use John’s Background Switcher to rotate through Flickr photos:
https://johnsad.ventures/software/backgroundswitcher/
It has extensive options and controls and supports a whole bunch of sources. It doesn’t have direct support for Reddit, but it claims to support “media RSS” feeds, and each subreddit has an RSS feed (https://www.howtogeek.com/320264/how-to-get-an-rss-feed-for-any-subreddit/), so it might be able to pull images from Reddit.
According to Softpedia and Major Geeks, the most recent release was in September 2017, so it looks like it’s still active. I stopped using it because I almost never saw my desktop background unless I made an effort to look at it, and that eventually felt like a waste of time.
