Joseph was nice enough to send me the required Registry keys for the Windows Vista SP2 update that was distributed to selected testers on October 16. It is a pre-beta update for testers and not suited for anything else but test systems to test the changes of the new service pack for Windows Vista.
There are not any changes yet that can be identified after installing Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista. The service pack 2 currently contains all released patches and hotfixes that have been already released and several files that are required for future updates that Microsoft will release to testers.
Users who are still interested in testing Windows Vista SP2 can download a batch file that is stored at Mediafire which will add the required keys to the Windows Vista Registry. The computer has to be restarted after executing the batch file before the changes become visible.

Windows Update will present the Vista SP2 Servicing Stack Update first which has to be installed before the actual Vista SP2 becomes available.

This must be the most obsolete post ever… Sorry Martin (and Kennii over at rlslog :), but faking an update .. I’m out of words here.
Martin, why would Vista users want to install a service pack that performs unknown functions and is still in the testing stages, which implies instability. Serious question, not a troll.
This isn’t for Vista users this is for testers that would like to try it out its not recommended for regular users unless you really want to this is for anyone that is interested and as of right now its the same as SP1 no notable changes yet
It’s the basis for upcoming updates. I thought I made it clear that it should only be used on test systems. No end user should install this right now.
This version of Vista SP2 beta is not the build that testers will get as its not released as yet, seems one snook out and went around the net like wildfire as they normally do.
