Not long ago I wrote an article about converting flv files which are used by Youtube and Google Video to another format like avi and mpg to be able to watch them on your computer without the need of using a flv player or plugin. Fastdump pointed out in the comments that the program VDownloader would do the same faster and easier, what can I say – he was right.
Vdownloader is a little freeware program that scans your clipboard for links to youtube, google video, grinvi and dailymotion. Once it detects such a link the movie will be automatically downloaded and converted to the format that you specified in the settings. You may save the video as avi, mpg or psp and change the output size and audio bitrate in the process.
Converting youtube videos did not take long at all. A 2 minute video was downloaded and converted in about 2-3 minutes to mpg. I was trying the same on dailymotion and it was working fluent as well. It takes a little bit longer to convert larger videos of course but it still the fastest way that I know of. It is basically a one click download and conversion program.

Seriously, have you ever found a videeo file on YouTube worth saving regardless of the format? In my opinion they are all crap quality. :)

Few days back i have sent u an email asking for help regarding taking snapshots from a movie in fullsize
but u still dint reply..Plz anyone here suggest a good software which takes snapshots from a movie and save it as .jpg.I have tried many tools but none take full size snapshot of a video they decrease the
size.
Lorissa I use those sites mainly for music videos and add them to my modded xbox afterwards. I know that the quality is more or less crappy, but hey, it is free.

dk I did ? Use Print on your keyboard for fullscreen screenshots. You have to disable video acceleration in your media player before though.
@martin i have tried ur tip.. when i pasted it on mspaint i got a black image..
that is because hardware acceleration is enabled. Please write your topic in the forum, this post is about youtube videos. I will reply there again. Thanks

Why don’t you just play the vid and pause it at the point where you want the screenshot, then press the “Print Screen” button then go into to paint, paste the image and simply move the pasted image so the edges of WMP aren’t there?
