Midjourney V5: Natural language writing prompts
The Midjourney V5 natural language writing feature is one of the most innovative features launched with the newest model, helping with more human-like prompts. Let's take a look at how much easier it made for people to describe the AI bot what they need.
Midjourney rolled out its V5 model a while ago, and it brought many innovations to its technology. "Starting today our community can test Midjourney V5. It has much higher image quality, more diverse outputs, wider stylistic range, support for seamless textures, wider aspect ratios, better image prompting, wider dynamic range and more. Let’s explore," tweeted Midjourney on March 16.
Today, we will examine the "better image prompting" part the company mentioned. Midjourney 5 natural language writing is one of the difference-makers when it comes to typing the right prompts to let the bot know exactly what you want.
Midjourney 5 Natural Language Writing Prompts: What changed?
Generative AI tools are some of the best helpers of humanity in today's world. However, there is still a very distinctive and obvious difference between those tools and humanity in terms of intelligence and such. Companies are trying to make AI tools more human-like, including Midjourney.
In the previous models of Midjourney, you had to describe what you wanted, giving simple information separated with commas. However, the company has made an impressive update, the Midjourney 5 natural language writing. It now works better if you form a full sentence rather than separating every command with commas or slashes.
"This model has very high Coherency, excels at interpreting natural language prompts, is higher resolution, and supports advanced features like repeating patterns with --tile," says Midjourney.
Let's say you have an idea in mind and want to express it with the new Midjourney V5 prompts. Try to type it in a full sentence to get better results. Midjourney also says that adding extra words like high resolution or 8k might be bad for the result.
"In --v 5, your prompts will benefit even more from being written in the form of sentences rather than lists. Try writing like you learned in school. For example, An astronaut floating in outer space may produce more predictable results than astronaut, floating, outer space," added the company.
How to use Midjourney V5?
First things first, join the official Midjourney Discord channel to start using the AI tool. Type /settings in the chat and choose MJ 5 from the options. When you want to generate an image, add —v 5 at the end of the prompt. However, the feature is not available for trial users.
