Microsoft Outlook Attachment Extractor

Outlook Attachment Extractor is a free program for Microsoft Windows that allows you to extract email attachments from Outlook.
Email attachments can make up the majority of space required by email clients depending on the number and size of attachments that are received on a regular basis. It's usually a good idea to remove old attachments from the email program to free up space that may be needed elsewhere.
While you can go ahead and detach attachments from emails manually, doing so may be quite the time consuming job.
Outlook Attachment Extractor
The Microsoft Outlook Attachment Extractor is a small software program for the Windows operating system that can extract and remove email attachments from selected Microsoft Outlook folders. Extracting in this case simply means to save the attachments of a selected Outlook folder to another location on the computer system.
Removing on the other hand means that the attachments will get unlinked from the email messages which will free up the space on the hard drive that the Outlook mails and profiles reside on.
This does not have to mean that the attachment cannot be opened from the email anymore. It is possible to remove the attachment from the Outlook folder completely, to replace it with a link pointing to the new location of the files, or to replace it with a text reference in the email attachment.
This in turn can be interesting, as you can move the attachments to a different partition or drive and still have them linked from within the emails so that you do not lose access to them.
Several options are available to configure the process in detail. It is for example possible to only process attachments that have a specific extension, or those that are larger than a certain file size. The destination folder for the attachments can be selected as well as rules on how to process already existing files.
The Outlook Attachment Remover can also be used to add the removed attachments to the email messages again at a later point if the need arises.
You can furthermore reintroduce unlinked attachments again should the need arise at a later point in time.
Verdict
If you want to shave off some disk space that Outlook occupies, then one of the best options to do that is to move or remove attachments from the email mailboxes. Outlook Attachment Extractor automates much of the process for you, so that you don't have to process emails manually.
Update: The program has not been updated since 2009. It should however work fine with recent versions of Microsoft Outlook. Check out Mailstore Home if you require a more advanced solution.

You said that Outlook isn’t your main email client, so which is your main one?
I think its thunderbird
It is Mozilla Thunderbird.
Awesome! This actually solved my problem… what a stupid bug.
If this is the same bug that I’ve encountered, there may be another fix: (1) hover over open Outlook item in Taskbar, cursor up to hover over Outlook window item, and right-click; (2) this should give you Restore / Move / Size / Minimize / Maximize — choose Move or Size; (3) use your cursor keys, going arbitrarily N/S/E/W, to try to move or size the Outlook window back into view. Basically, the app behaves as though it were open in a 0x0 window, or at a location that’s offscreen, and this will frequently work to resize and/or move the window. Don’t forget to close while resized/moved, so that Outlook remembers the size/position for next time.
THANK YOU Claude!!! I could get the main window to launch but could not get any other message window to show on the desktop. You are my hero!!!!
