Software programs that get installed on the computer system can be uninstalled using the supplied uninstaller or by simply deleting the program folder of the application. Doing the latter will keep traces of the software program on the computer, for example in the uninstall programs dialog and the Windows Registry.

Uninstall Cleaner is a uninstall software that can be used to remove traces from the program uninstall menu in the Windows Control Panel and the Windows Registry.

The program can be used to clean up the traces from the computer system if the user deleted the program folder on the hard drive manually, or if for some reason the uninstallation procedure did not remove the entries in the control panel.

Uninstall Cleaner

The portable software program lists all existing program entries in a table when it is started on a Windows machine. The table reveals information about each entry, including its name, publisher, and the Registry key name. Additional information is displayed for the selected program. This includes the install date and path, as well as the install source.

Uninstall Cleaner lists default entries only by default. You can enable the "show unnamed entries" and"show Windows updates" options to add those to the program listing as well.

Available options are to start the default uninstallation of the software program, or to delete the remaining traces from the computer system. Unless you know that the default uninstaller won't work, it is suggested to run it first before you use the program's delete option to remove leftover entries.

The application will be automatically refreshed after a program has been uninstalled or removed using the application.

The display of programs is near instant which is refreshing. You can sort applications with a click on the table headers, for instance by name or publisher.

There is no option to search the installed programs, the next best option to find a particular application is to keep the a-z sorting and browse the apps this way.

Uninstall Cleaner scans the Windows Registry for installed programs and displays them in the list. There is unfortunately no option to cross-check the list automatically with the remaining installed programs on the system. This means that you will have to go through the list to remove those applications that you want removed completely.

Other applications that are probably worth considering are Revo Uninstaller, MyUninstaller or Safarp which do provide additional features that Uninstall Cleaner does not provide.

Especially Revo Uninstaller can be very thorough when uninstalling software programs from a computer system.

Verdict

Uninstaller Cleaner is a handy program that you may run whenever you need to clean up uninstallation and program entries in the Windows Registry. It lacks some of the advanced features of programs like Revo Uninstaller though.

I use both Safarp and MyUninstaller, and think that they are covering my needs related to managing “Add and Remove”

There’s also ZSoft Uninstaller, which is good.
