Jellybean is not your usual wallpaper changer. That much becomes apparent after launching the application for the first time. The options to change wallpapers are limited to changing them manually in the interface or once at system startup. There are no options to change wallpapers automatically if the system is running and it also does not come with wallpaper download capabilities. One could say it is a rather barebone wallpaper changer.

This may however appeal to users who never wanted these features in first place and those who do not want another software program running in the background all the time. Jellybean lists the currently available wallpapers in a list in its interface.

Each wallpaper can be previewed and set to either stretch, tile or center. The preview does contain additional information about the image's resolution, graphics format and size of the image.

New wallpapers can be added easily with a file browser from the local computer. It is also possible to delete wallpapers in the table or select one as the new desktop background manually instead. Checking the Shuffle Wallpaper box will add the application to the startup items so that a random wallpaper will be set on every Windows start.

Tip: To make sure that the shuffle feature only considers wallpapers that you like, remove those from the listing that you don't want used in first place.

It should be noted that Jellybean does not seem to recognize multi-monitor systems. Single-monitor users who only want to change the wallpaper once per run might want to give it a try.

Update: The Jellybean Wallpaper Changer is unfortunately no longer available. You can check out our wallpaper repository here on Ghacks for a selection of alternatives that you can run to automatically change wallpapers on your operating system. Among them are John's Background Switcher which you can configure to change the wallpaper in select intervals, or Wallpaper Shifter which will terminate itself after it has changed the wallpaper on the PC.

Irregardless of what previous poster ‘bill’ writes, Jellybean is a nice little app that displays a different wallpaper at startup. Simple and elegant.

what a silly waste of time and drive space! just right click on your desktop & click properties. you can change your background (wallpaper), screen-saver, or just about anything else about your desktop.
