Meta is revolutionizing the digital landscape with the deployment of Meta AI assistant across its popular platforms, including WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram.

The Meta Connect 2023 event has been over for a few hours. This 2-day event was a feast where technology giant Meta presented its plans for the near future to its users.

The event, which showed Meta AI assistant, Meta Quest 3, and Meta's collaboration with Rayban, showed us once again how bright the future of technology can be.

Although Meta Quest 3 was the star of the event, Meta AI assistant will not be overshadowed by it. See the full event below.

Meta AI assistant at your service

At the forefront of this revolution is Meta AI assistant, a conversational AI that builds upon the success of AI models like OpenAI's ChatGPT. Meta AI takes things to the next level by serving as a general-purpose assistant capable of a wide range of tasks, from planning group trips to answering search engine-like queries. What sets Meta AI assistant apart is its collaboration with Microsoft's Bing, providing real-time web results and access to up-to-date information. This feature makes it stand out from many other free AI chatbots.

Meta AI assistant is available in beta and marks a significant milestone in the development of conversational AI. This chatbot is accessible on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and will soon integrate with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and Quest 3. Powered by a custom model drawing from the technology of Llama 2 and the latest large language model (LLM) research, Meta AI provides real-time information and image generation tools within text-based chats.

Users can interact with Meta AI assistant for various tasks, from making group decisions to creative projects.

One remarkable feature of Meta AI assistant is its ability to generate images on demand using the "/imagine" prompt. During a brief demo, it showcased its prowess by producing high-resolution images within seconds. This image generation capability, like other Meta AI assistant features, is available for users at no cost.

Tech behind Mta AI assistant

The tech behind Meta AI assistant is built on principles similar to Meta's quasi-open source model, Llama 2, which has gained rapid industry adoption. The demand for Llama 2 helped refine Meta AI assistant, using innovations and insights from the broader AI community. Additionally, the development team refined data sets for conversations, ensuring a friendly and conversational tone in responses. They expanded the model's context window, allowing for deeper, more meaningful interactions with users.

Moreover, Meta AI assistant is tuned to provide concise and helpful answers, avoiding the robotic and bland responses seen in some AI chatbots.

Celebrities reborn as Meta AI characters

In addition to its Meta AI assistant, Meta is introducing 28 AI characters across its messaging apps, some based on celebrities like Charli D'Amelio (Coco), MrBeast (Zach), and Kendall Jenner (Billie).

These characters aim to provide engaging and fun interactions, making them more relatable and enjoyable for users.

Meta AI Characters will be gradually rolled out to select English-language users in WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and Facebook Stories, providing a broader spectrum of expressive options.

Stickers meet generative AI

Another exciting feature introduced by Meta is AI stickers, a creative and expressive way to enhance communication.

Powered by cutting-edge technology from Llama 2 and Emu, these stickers allow users to effortlessly generate customized stickers for chats and stories.
