Steam, Epic Store and GOG Halloween Sales: here are our top picks

All Hallows Eve is almost upon us, and it is sort of a tradition that gaming platforms run Halloween Sales at the time. The sale has started on the platforms Steam, Epic Store and GOG already, and you may check out what is on sale already. If you run a client, you can browse the discounted offers directly in the client.
Halloween sales usually limit discounts to thematic games and not the entire catalog of games. Since it can be quite time consuming to browse all three stores, we have decided to display our top picks from each of the stores in the following paragraphs.
Specific events for games may also be highlighted on the Stores.
Here are the main entry points in case you want to browse the stores manually instead:
- Steam Halloween Sale 2021 (from 28.10 to 1.11)
- Epic Store Halloween Sale 2021
- GOG Halloween Sale 2021 (from 27.10 to 3.11)
Steam Halloween 2021 Game Picks
The Steam sale runs through November 1, 2021, and it includes many non-horror or Halloween-themed games.
Here are the picks:
Warhammer Vermintide 2 (base game 6.99€, content bundle 37,55€)
Warhammer Vermintide 2 is a coop game that plays in the Warhammer universe. Not the Warhammer 40k universe, but the Fantasy Battles world.
It features different characters that you can play, weapon and character upgrades, lots of levels, boss fights and stunning visuals.
If you like coop games, this one should certainly be of interest to you.
Phasmophobia (9,85€)
Phasmophobia is another four player coop game, but this one is about paranormal activities and psychological horror.
In the game, you try to gather evidence about paranormal activities using ghost hunting equipment.
The game is in early access, meaning that it is not complete yet. Also note that it plays in standard and in VR mode.
Epic Store Halloween Sale 2021
Epic Store's catalog is much smaller than the Steam Store catalog or even the GOG catalog.
Legend of Keepers (11.69€)
Legend of Keepers is a strategy game in which you play the bad guys. You try to lure heroes into your dungeon, manage and train monsters, upgrade equipment, and do all you can to beat the groups of heroes that try to defeat you.
Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition (6.39 €)
Based in the Dungeons and Dragons world Planescape, Torment is arguably one of the best D&D games ever created, if you love to read.
You are the Nameless One, a hulking figure covered in scars and tattoos collected over the course of countless lives—none of which you can remember, but are now coming back to haunt you. You are prodded awake by Morte, a floating skull and keeper of secrets, to embark on an adventure taking The Nameless One from the dirty streets of Sigil into the mysterious Outer Planes and even into the depths of Hell itself.
GOG 2021 Halloween Sale
GOG is a treasure trove for older games. While you get new games on the platform as well, it is the best option when it comes to classic computer games.
Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (4.49 €)
Elvira is an adventure game that came out in 1990 originally. As such, it does not have beautiful graphics by today's standards. Still, the adventure game is fun to play, and the still images are quite gruesome.
It features real-time combat, more than 800 rooms to explore, spells and more.
Phantasmagoria (5,69 €)
Phantasmagoria and Phantasmagoria II, which is also on sale, came out in 1995. It is a classic horror game by one of Sierra's most popular writers, Roberta Williams. It was Sierra's first game with full-motion video technology.
It tells the story of a writer moving into a remote mansion, and supernatural forces that terrorize the writer.
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father (3.39 €)
The original version of the game is a classic adventure game. You play Gabriel Knight, a book author, who happens to be the Schattenjäger, or Shadow Hunter.
It is a classic point and click adventure that plays in New Orleans, but you will travel to other places as well. Other parts of the series are also discounted. Part 2 uses full-motion technology, part 3 moved to 3D.
Now You: have other games that you can recommend? Feel free to share them in the comments below!

Tomb Raider 2013 is on GOG now, ofcourse DRM-free. I got it since it’s very cheap, even though I had it on Steam too.
Now if only Square Enix would release Nier Automata on GOG as well. The Denuvo-less version on Steam is awesone, but I want it conpletely DRM-free..
Epic Games Store is giving a one-time $10 coupon, which you can claim by subscribing to their newsletter.
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/news/connect-and-save-subscribe-to-epic-games-emails-and-get-a-10-dollar-epic-coupon
Here are my recommendations:
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Days Gone
Death Stranding
Hitman 3
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Red Dead Redemption 2
The coupon is only valid on games priced above $14.99. It is not eligible for pre-orders and DLCs. Check the regional pricing restrictions for the coupon. If a game is priced below $14.99, check if it has a Deluxe Edition, Gold Edition or a Bundle, that costs slightly more, and you may be able to avail the coupon for a better discount. You can also use the coupon on non-discounted titles, so you can get the games which never drop in price, for cheap.
It’s also worth noting that the coupon expires on November 15th, while the Halloween sale ends on November 1st. So, you may want to hold out for new games to be launched like Football Manager 22, Jurassic World Evolution 2, etc.
Reminder to check Game Pass as well, it has many new releases and includes EA Play as well. You can get a 3-month subscription for free, by opting into the Crunchyroll premium trial. It requires a credit card to sign up for free, but you can immediately deactivate the premium to avoid being billed. I managed to get it on my secondary account, so it definitely works.
