Magnetized is a free Flash-based puzzle game that uses simple game mechanics to provide you with a wonderful and challenging experience. Your task in the game is simple: direct a floating something to the exit. You complete a level if the cube makes it to the end, and need to try again if it crashes into the darkness on the screen. See, the cube can only move on the highlighted path on each map and since that area tends to curve and bend quite a bit, it can become quite challenging to keep up with it and steer it away from any dangers.

What this has to do with magnets? Well, the only controls that you have are magnets that are placed strategically on the map. You use the magnetic pull to change the course of the cube. How you do that? By left-clicking of course. The left-click button is actually the only button that you need in the game, and you can click on it from anywhere to use the magnets.

The game will automatically use the magnet closest to the cube so that you need to take that into consideration before you start clicking or holding down the left mouse button.

The magnet that is currently active is highlighted by the game. It is always the one closest to the cube.  The magnetic pull changes the course of the cube in a circular motion in the first 20 levels of the game. A different type of magnet is introduced then which pulls the magnet in a straight line in to the direction of the magnet. Here you also encounter additional elements like moving walls that you need to avoid.

These elements are combined in later stages which increases the difficulty level of the game significantly. Basic rules do still apply though which means that only the closest magnet is active at any given time. Still, finding the right timing is crucial here and it is likely that you will start to crash the cube more often in later levels of the game. There is no cap though in regards to tries which means that you can play any level for as long as you like.

It may become a frustrating experience though at times and my advice here is to take a break and try again at a later point in time.

Magnetized is a fun puzzle game that is ideal for a short break or a rainy Sunday afternoon. It is not a pretty game but this one is not about graphics or effects, it is about gameplay, a nice idea and the excitement that you will feel when you finally managed to complete a level that you could not complete in the attempts before.
