Liberated Films is a movie plattform that brings independent film makers and film enthusiasts together on a single website. Independent film makers get a lot of exposure from the central plattform while viewers are able to enjoy more than 9000 films that are currently hosted on site.
The interface has all the popular interactive elements that make a site successful. Besides comments it offers ratings, tag clouds, rss feeds and blog ratings to every user. Visitors can use the categories, a site search or the tag cloud to search for and find new films that can be watched in a similar interface as that of Youtube.
Information about the creators are given, comments are available as well as links to related movies and high quality versions which require a (free) membership. It is however not possible to embed movies in your own website.
Update: The Liberated Films website has been discontinued. It is no longer available.
Advertising revenue is falling fast across the Internet, and independently-run sites like Ghacks are hit hardest by it. The advertising model in its current form is coming to an end, and we have to find other ways to continue operating this site.
We are committed to keeping our content free and independent, which means no paywalls, no sponsored posts, no annoying ad formats (video ads) or subscription fees.
