I run Win8.1Pro and have been an Update victim consecutively for August and September – the latter being a total disaster requiring complete replacement of HD with damaged Partition 1 and
with all of the consequential losses involved in such experience.
MS told me to wait for September’s roll-up which I have waiting ‘in the wings’ but there have been
no reports by the experts as to whether application of this roll-up for 8.1 has resulted in further damage or not.
Malwarebytes suggest that they could be the solution to Defender problems which have also been affected but I see from the October cumulative offer that it deals with files deep within the program which I would imagine would not come within their remit – so – do I take a chance and install all of them or leave then to rot on the vine?
In any event – before I do I will have a number of cloned back-up HD’s standing by.
Comments please? I know others were badly affected by the September 8.1 fiasco

How am I feeling? Old. Achy. Sad. Today would have been MyLarry’s 60th birthday. Just 18 months ago, I had no idea we would not see it together. So yeah, today is not the day for that how are you query.
