Streaming TV has really taken off in recent years, with services like Hulu, Netflix or even Amazon, offering TV streams for free, or for a reasonable price. Most Internet users interested in streams likely have their favorite sites that they visit regularly to watch the latest tv shows on their computer which can be a issue sometimes, if those favorite destinations do not offer the tv show they are looking for.

A search on the Internet usually reveals many questionable sources and a few that are 100% legit. The Firefox add-on Stream Chaser adds an option to the browser that may appeal to users who prefer to use reputable services only.

The extension adds an icon to the browser's status bar that you can click on to open a search form. Just type in the name of the show or episode that you are interested in and hit the enter key afterwards (or click with the mouse on the search icon).

The extension populates results on a new local page in the browser. Stream Chaser queries the following services and databases: Vudu, Netflix, Amazon, CinemaNow, Hulu, Sony Video Unlimited, YouTube and iTunes.

As you can see from the listing, the Firefox extension queries both free and commercial listings. That does not necessarily mean that you can't get free episodes on the commercial sites, as they sometimes offer free tv episodes there as well.

The extension sorts the available tv show streams by service they are offered on. Additional information are posted on some, for instance whether the services charge money to stream them, and which seasons and episodes are offered on the site.

One issue that international users may run into is that services that are not available in their country - Hulu comes to mind - are not filtered out from the results. A selection menu to filter out services that users are not interested in or can't use would be quite useful in this regard.

Still, if you like to watch TV show streams on the Internet, you'll probably find the Stream Chaser extension for the Firefox web browser quite useful.
