Earlier this year, we posted a Microsoft Office Professional 2021 for Windows and Office Home and Business 2021 for Mac for $49.99 deal on Ghacks Deals that went through the roof. Demand was very high and we had to end the deal early at the time.

Good news is, the deal is back. You can grab a lifetime Microsoft Office Professional 2021 for Windows license or a Microsoft Office Home & Business for Mac 2021 lifetime license again on Ghacks Deals for $49.99 each.

    Does Office Pro 2021 allow switching to menus like Word 2003, if not can I make edits to the bar menus with only the functions as I use the the K.I.S.S. method & am not a typist & at 82 my short term memory is weak. I only use Word & Excel 2003. I deal in information only by creating dots to solutions. What I use now works ok; however your price is what caught my eye.

    Is there any place on the net where I can view screen shots with operational descriptions?

    Regards,

      Hi Herb, I’m not sure what you mean by “switching to menus” but in my opinion the general layout and ribbon (toolbar) have never looked better or functioned more intuitively than they do now. At this price it’s a no brainer; so go for it, I think you’ll be happy with the end result even if it takes some getting used to.

      You can customise the ribbon (toolbar), just do so methodically and make a note of what you change in case the result is undesired.

      The link below has some screenshots showing the current and new (still in the process of being rolled out) looks for Word and Excel. For now you can choose between these two looks but they’re functionally the same.

    I’m considering your $49.99 offer for Office Pro 2021 but have some questions:

    Can I install OP 2021 but still retain & use Office Pro 2007 on my PC?
    Can OP Excel 2021 read OP Excel 2007 files?
    Can OP Excel 2021 save files in OP Excel 2007 Format (with reduced functionality?)

    Thank you.

      @Bernie Elsner
      Microsoft, as of Office 2007, had switched to its Open XML formats (e.g. .docx instead of .doc). Since then, to the best of my limited knowledge, there has not been another fundamental shift in file formats. In short, your Office 2007 files should do just fine with Office 2021 (whether Word and .docx, Excel and .xlsx, etc.). Nevertheless, you may want to continue to do your own research, FWIW.
