    Thank you, Martin.

This has worked perfectly for me — no problems with payment, installation, licensing, or usage on Windows 10 (latest 64 bit version as of March 15/22). It came through the latest patch with no problems.

Obviously, one’s mileage may vary, but I have a couple of software packages I’ve purchased through gHacks and have had no trouble at all. I’ll continue taking advantage of gHacks deals for software I want until I have a reason to do otherwise.

Thanks Martin, I bought a Mac license through your link on this site, I hope the referral helps.

Getting Office for Windows is very easy as stated by some of the prior comments, but Mac activation seems to be a bit different and even the MS Swap Marketplace reddit are much more expensive so this pretty good deal. I activated the license through the MS portal then download and installed locally on my mac and it is fully activated.

However what is different from 2019? The only real thing I see is outlook finally has a simplified GUI not the complicated GUI spaghetti of the prior outlooks so it is now actually pleasant to use. All the other applications are basically the same.

If you are happy with Libreoffice or prior office versions no need to get 2021.

…and the buy link still says “System Requirements Windows 7/10/11”.

Martin: You’ve updated to say “running Windows 10 or newer” but it would be better to clarify that earlier you reported “Windows 7 or newer”. Simply saying “Updated Jan 28, 2022” isn’t particularly useful.

The MS site says win 10 or 11, not “The lifetime license may be installed on one Windows PC, running Windows 7 or newer”

    The ghacks link says:
    System Requirements
    Windows 7/10/11

    MS themselves say:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-365-and-office-resources?rtc=2#coreui-heading-j4d3wac
    Operating system
Windows OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11

So does it support 7? What about 8, 8.1?

I’d set up a Virtualbox Windows 8.1, patch it all the way, and install it into there… and back up the VM after installation and before setting anything else up.

I’m also somewhat skeptical of the price and wonder what strings are attached.

Beyond that, though, I find it increasing difficult to justify paying for a ‘new’ version of Office when so little actually changes from one release to another. Would the average user even notice the difference between Office 2021 and, say, Office 2010? Aside from the collaboration features, probably not.

The price is way too high: They probably buy it for less than $10.

Working for a bank, I could get office 2016 for $12, and the 2019 version for $16 from the School Board.

Note: It doesn’t mean I’m endorsing StackCommerce or Ghacks Deals for that matter. I’m just trying to debunk some know-it-all’s statements.

Your own statement is so know-it-all that it’s perfectly useless. You haven’t “debunked” a thing, and there is nothing to “debunk”, because nobody stated anything with certainty : there was just a widely-shared disbelief that a full-fledged licence of Microsoft Office could be sold by a legitimate site, at a price so incredibly lower than the official price.

Leading many people to think that there may be a catch.

Or could you point us to an official Microsoft page selling Office at that price ?

Joining my voice to others. I jumped on this, but it sounds too good to be true. Also, what justifies this : “Please note : This product is in high demand. Your license may take up to 48-hours to arrive in your inbox.”

You mean : there are so many people queuing up for it, that Stack Commerce has trouble gluing together all the bits necessary for so many pieces of Office ? The slaves are working overtime in the basement to “produce” the software ?

Great deal…something’s gotta be weird, I don’t need this, though.

Maybe not, Win 10 Pro was being sold for $40 a year or so ago. Occasionally stuff like this happens.

Although cheap licenses that work fine forever are available many places.

Deal checkout does NOT work. Tried to checkout with PayPal and it get stuck for minutes on “Processing Order”. Tried more 2 or 3 times with same result. Really?

Does the licence allow transfer to a different PC at a later date? Probably not?

Instinctively, the maxim “If it seems too good to be true it probably is” comes to mind!!

Are these legitimate licenses? They cannot be, not at this price. Would you buy from here at this price Martin? I assume it is an MSDN/Microsoft Technet key and they are selling them on.
