gog summer sale 2021

What better way is there to spend your Summer than to purchase a few new interesting PC games to play these in the chilled atmosphere of your home while everyone else is getting roasted outside.

The Gog Summer Sale 2021 started just a moment ago and will run until June 28, 2021. As is the case with these sales, most games on the platform are available at a discount. In Gog's case, games are discounted by up to 90%.

Gog is a special platform, as it focuses on DRM-free offerings. All other platforms, Steam or Epic Games Store, use DRM which may impact performance of games and may also be problematic from a privacy point of view. Gog has its own Galaxy client, but it is an optional component and not a mandatory one.

Check out the store on your own, or take a look at our picks first. You may also use the full games listing here and the filter system to find discounted games based on your specifications.

Our Gog Summer Sale 2021 Picks

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition for €10

witcher 3 wild hunt

This is arguably CD Projekt's best game in the Witcher series. The Game of the Year edition includes all expansions and additional content that was released for the game.

The Wither 3: Wild Hunt is an action roleplaying game that features an open world, an interesting story-driven main campaign, and thanks to the integration of expansions, lots of extra content that will keep you entertained for the Summer and beyond.

Blood Bowl 2 - Legendary Edition for €7.49

blood bowl

Blood Bowl is a turn-based strategy game that is a mix of American Football with Warhammer-infused rules. The bundle includes the main game, the official expansion, and several extra teams that you can play as.

If you like turn-based strategies and a rather brutal futuristic version of American Football, then this is certainly something for you to try.

Streets of Rage 4 for €15

streets of rage

Streets of the Rage is the fourth title in Sega's famous Streets of Rage series of side-scrolling brawlers. The game features beautiful hand-drawn animations and visuals, comes with a boatload of characters, and single-player and co-op mode.

If you like side-scrolling fighting games, this is one that you should not miss.

Faster Than Light: Advanced Edition for €2.09

Faster Than Light, or FTL, is a strategy game that puts you in control of a spaceship. Your task is simple: save the galaxy. In order to do that, you will have to make tough decisions.

Upgrade your ship, manage your crew, choose weapon targets and handle the power distribution. There is lots to do and usually not enough time to do it all properly.

Sid Meier's Civilization IV Complete Edition for €5

civ v

Civilization has always been one of my favorite games. Civ IV is an excellent strategy game in which you guide a civilization from very humble beginnings to a space-exploring powerhouse.

The complete edition includes all three expansions: Warlords, Beyond the Sword and Colonization.

Anyone have recommendations for coop (lan or online) games that aren’t fast paced? Always trying to find something to play with the wife, but she usually struggles with faster games or anything first person.

There’s a new coop game called It Takes Two.

Heroes series, Lego (Star Wars/Harry Potter/Batman/etc.) series, may be Trine series, Aragami (stealth with coop – a rare genre with a rare mode), Diablo (1)… It’s all available on GOG.
Turn-based strategies (and turn-based games in general) with coop.

Depends on the genres she likes. You could try Portal 2, but that is only on Steam. It is an excellent co-op game that is all about puzzles and gravity. Terraria is another one of my favorites, but not everyone likes the pixel-look of it.

You could use this list at GOG, which only displays coop games, and then sort by rating or something: https://www.gog.com/games?system=windows_10%2Cwindows_7%2Cwindows_8%2Cwindows_vista%2Cwindows_xp&sort=popularity&page=1&feature=coop

The fact that Necromunda: Hired Gun is a shooting game makes me not wanting to play it but the graphics in the game, are spectacular.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition has an even more spectacular graphic resolution to offer, but yet again it central point of the game is fighting.
