Game Dashboard integration has been enabled on Android 12
The Android 12 Game Dashboard is an exciting feature that a lot of gamers are looking forward to. However, the experience is now being enhanced even further with direct integration to Google’s Play Games, which you can start enjoying if you are already running the Android 12 beta build on your device.
The latest Google Play Games version integrates directly with your Game Dashboard and shows within the in-app pop-up menu. However, you will need to run the latest beta 4 version of Android 12 to experience this integration to the full extent.
The new widget appears in the main Game Dashboard, next to the YouTube Live option. Here it gives an overview of the Play Games account, including achievements and leaderboard progress. By tapping on this overview, it expands, providing more information on your gamer profile. It will also allow you to get up close and personal with your in-game achievements unlocking progress without having to open the dedicated Play Games application.
Other than the handy widget for your menu, Game Dashboard also brings up a pop-up menu while you’re playing a game that allows you to keep an eye on stats and more without having to pause the game to check this information.
The latest update for Google Play Games, v2021.07.28550, is rolling out now, and if you already have the Android 12 beta installed, you can integrate the two directly. You can access the Game Dashboard by navigating to your Android phone’s settings, and then tapping on ‘Notifications’ and then ‘Do Not Disturb’, ‘Schedules’, and finally tapping on ‘Gaming’.
It is also important to note that the floating and panel controls will only show in games that are certified to work with this platform. Currently, I know this includes Call of Duty Mobile and Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated.
Closing words
If you enjoy playing mobile games on your Android device, then the upcoming Game Dashboard for Android 12, integrated with the newest update from Google Play Games, will make tracking achievements and progress in games much easier and more convenient. I look forward to seeing how this dashboard develops further and what future features will be introduced to gamers.
