Most Android users end up using the default Chrome internet browser. However, it is good to know that many more browsers in the Play Store are also good to use, and some offer many other useful features. Samsung Internet 15 has just come out of beta and offers many more security features, making it one of the best you can find.

Samsung Internet 15 bundles a few features that Chrome doesn’t offer in its menu, along with several security enhancements. With privacy being a major priority of most Android users, the Samsung 12 browser focused on additional security measures to offer even more privacy to users. With that in mind, Samsung is building two new features into its browser. The Samsung Internet 15 now sports anti-tracking technology. This feature protects users against fingerprinting while browsing. The ‘Delete Browsing Data’ menu has also been expanded to give more options and now includes examples of what each option clears.

There have also been changes made to how Samsung’s Secret mode works. Secret mode is similar to Chrome’s Incognito mode. However, the Secret mode has now been changed so that once you enable Secret mode, it will stay on by default even when exiting the app. This is not currently the case with Chrome Incognito.

However, it’s important to note that this final release not only includes privacy and security updates but features other valuable updates as well. One of these consists of a new search widget for your home screen that looks a lot like Google’s search bar. The latest release also temporarily caches and stores web pages that you’ve visited, making re-visiting them much easier, and load times will be faster.

When taking a quick look at the app, it appears that all the elements released in the app teaser have made it to the final release version. Features included are the search widget mentioned above, anti-tracking, improvements to private browsing, and expanded options for deleting your browsing history.

Closing words

The Samsung Internet 15 browser sets itself apart from other browsers with a strong focus on privacy and security features. This browser is making waves and might prove to be a strong competitor against Chrome for Android devices. I appreciate the anti-tracking features and the fact that Secret mode stays enabled even aft

It’s only available in “beta.” And the original v.14 cannot be installed, so your only option is to have both copies on your phone. Article writer does not seem to have discovered this, so am guessing he just copied form a press release.

I just tried this out along with ADguard as recommended. Looks very promising and will use it as my primary browser along with Duck Duck Go.

To quote our kids “I don’t care what else you do to our phones, just don’t take off AdGuard.” Makes phone browsing bearable, paid version blocks in-app ads. Cheap lifetime licenses available in the store here.

It’s the only browser I use, together with the Adguard extension. Indeed a good browser.

It doesn’t have good sync with any desktop browser, and no tab-sending makes this a deal-breaker for me.

Been using it ever since it started supporting non-Samsung phones. A good browser.

Great. Now change the name so that 900 trillion users that don’t have Samsung phones understand they can install it too. My suggestion: Interweb. I dare ya!

Being on a Note 10 — v14 — still … can I presume it’s a steady roll-out of updates that will get to me soon?
Play Store only showed Installed and Last Updated 7/28/21 = v14, & nothing to suggest a manual v15 update possibility.

Misleading headline stating “officially” released implies not a beta, which this is. You must download separately, and the orig v14 cannot be uninstalled, so you will have two on your phone. In time, the full version v14 update to 15 will be released, but not now; writer jumped the gun.

…am surprised nobody but you (and me) noticed this. Meaning theyall just said “wow, great” without even having tried it yet. Happens all the time.
