Currently for Chrome: weather and time on new tab pages
Are you one of those users who is not using the information that the Google Chrome browser displays on its new tab page? Or only infrequently? If you are not interested in a list of the most used websites or apps, then you may be interested in filling the space with information that you are interested in.
Currently is an extension for Chrome that may fill the gap for you. The extension displays the current time and date and weather information on Chrome's new tab page. And since it would not be cool without a stylish design, it is exactly what you get when you install it. Take a look at a screenshot of the default theme that the extension ships with.
Here you find the realtime clock at the top, below that the date, and below that the weather report and forecast for the current day and the three days that follow. Fahrenheit is used by default, which you can change in the extension's preferences.
Here it is also possible to change from the 12-hour time scheme to a 24-hour scheme, switch to a light or blue theme instead of the default dark theme, disable animations, or specify a different location that you want weather information for.
Once you have made the changes in the preferences, the new tab page may look like the one on the screenshot below instead.
Next to the preferences button in the lower right is a button that lets you switch to Chrome's default new tab page which can be useful for users who sometimes want to access the contents that it makes available in the web browser.
Chrome users can install the latest version of the Currently extension over at the Google Chrome Web Store. (via Caschy)

I have created a chrome extension (postnidea weather now) which provides you current weather report.

It was beautiful and perfect, but no longer works. No longer gets weather data and has sketchy permissions that were added in Oct of 2018. Would love to find a replacement for this.
Awesome ! Good find, like it a lot.
Not too sure this is necessary, although I don’t use Chrome.
I simply click on The Weather Network and get all the reports at a glance! :)
