A video that showcases the integration of ChatGPT into Unity has been shared online. ChatGPT, with its surging popularity, is currently being applied in various industries like healthcare, finance, and customer service. In addition to these realms, ChatGPT holds the potential to be employed in creative ways.

According to the proof-of-concept video, it appears that the gaming industry could be the next beneficiary of this AI software. The prospects are limitless, and it will be fascinating to witness how ChatGPT will further advance and uncover novel applications in the future.

For those who are unfamiliar with ChatGPT, it is a cutting-edge language model that has been developed by OpenAI and is based on the GPT-3.5 architecture. This model possesses an exceptional ability to produce responses that closely resemble those of human beings in response to a wide range of natural language queries.

Unity is a game engine that has garnered immense popularity, and it is utilized by millions of developers worldwide to create games for various platforms, including mobile, PC, and console.

Unity developer shared a video of the ChatGPT integration

Recently, Keijiro Takahashi, a Unity developer, tweeted a video (now deleted) that showcased the ChatGPT plugin for Unity Editor. This plugin empowers users to generate objects, move them, and duplicate them directly within the engine's editor using natural language prompts. With this official ChatGPT integration, there is immense potential for game development to be transformed.

The AICommand project, which is the plugin for ChatGPT, is available on GitHub and requires Unity 2022.2 or later, along with a unique API key for use. While this tool's potential is awe-inspiring, it should be kept in mind that the plugin is currently a proof-of-concept. Takahashi himself has acknowledged that there are instances where the plugin fails to implement a command correctly.

Like other AI software, ChatGPT possesses the potential to evolve into a more intricate and advanced system over time as it absorbs the massive amounts of data that are uploaded to the internet regularly. Moreover, the creators of the GPT-3.5 architecture are already in the process of developing GPT-4, which is set to raise the bar even higher. This development further helps the potential for AI-powered game development with minimal programming knowledge.

Corridor Crew recently posted a video on YouTube that showcased how they crafted an anime-style animation by employing a blend of AI software and video editing techniques. This amalgamation of advancements indicates that in the future, even individuals with a rudimentary understanding of development technology could fashion their video games without requiring extensive programming knowledge.

The potential for AI-powered game development is colossal, and it's exhilarating to envision the endless creative possibilities that await us. With the constant evolution and enhancement of technology, we can anticipate witnessing more groundbreaking and ingenious applications in the forthcoming years.

so great to see how we humans run willingly into the biggest dependency ever. if any impulse/motivation to laern things yourself is absorbed by the comfortable use of ai – what would just be another form of consumption- ,the human will lose their only evolutionary avantage they have on the long run – their brain.

Guy Fleegman: Sure, they’re cute now, but in a second they’re gonna get mean, and they’re gonna get ugly somehow, and there’s gonna be a million more of them.
