Do the following to run a manual check for updates:

  1. Select Start, type Windows Update and load the Windows Update item that is displayed.

After installing KB5014692 my bootup got much slower. There was no way to fix the slow boot problem. I tried everything. Also I always have no Apps running in the background when booting up Windows 10. So I slipstream the new update with NTLite software. When I did a fresh clean install Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2019 it solved the slow boot problem. Everything running great now.

Microsoft reported this As a BUG , After installing KB5014697, Windows devices might be unable use the Wi-Fi hotspot feature. When attempting to use the hotspot feature, the host device might lose the connection to the internet after a client device connects.

A strange Mobile Hotspot issue occurs after the KB5014697 update

For example, after installing the update, open the Mobile hotspot and connect to this network with your mobile phone, your Laptop internet will be cut off instantly. But Mobile hotspot will continue to broadcast. It seems they made a mistake, allowing only one connection type. My test system is an old laptop (8-9 years old) with Windows 11.

As usual, Microsoft continues to release updates without proper testing. The only way to fix the error is to remove the new update, for this, run CMD with administrator privileges and give the following command

    wusa /uninstall /kb:5014697

      +1
Had to uninstall the KB5014697 update to use my laptop as hotspot. There is even ping working, including DNS. But no internet for browsers and messengers. Shame to Microsoft.

      Or maybe the TRS-80? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRS-80

Or even maybe the first CPM computers like the Honywell?

Yes there is going a lot wrong right now with Windows o.s. but compared to the “Good old days”. I dont know!

Bit of a novice. Made the registry change a few weeks ago to protect against the Follina exploit. Do you need to unroll that registry change before installing the latest update?

I am still quit found of Windows 7. This because its quit steady in main opinion.
I have worked with it with much more pleasure than vista, windows 8, windows 8.1, the millennium edition, etc. Personally I think that for me Windows 10 works great.

Hopefully Windows 11 and windows 12 will became not a new chapter to the long line of operating system versions from the Redwood company who missed the plank/bath completely, like the ones I mention here before.
