I bought the Windscribe service via Ghacks deals when it was first offered, I think for $99 lifetime. I had some problems with losing connection and gave up on it.

Recently they emailed me about the R. O. B. E. R. T. feature and this caused me to try it again for the sake of 1) seeing if the service worked any better and 2) using the new feature.

I am delighted. I have used it for 1 week now and have experienced zero disconnections and a small but noticeable improvement in the speed at which websites load in Firefox. For what it’s worth I am on Windows version 1809, and I am using Windscribe as a desktop program and not using their browser extension. I think I was using the browser extension and not the desktop program when I had problems before.

Caveat: I noticed also that my wireless printer connection fails when I am using Windscribe. It is very easy to just switch Windscribe off when I want to print something, since I do not do a lot of printing.

I signed up for a year a couple of weeks ago for about £8. As far as I can tell it’s secure,
reliable, stupid easy to use and cheap as chips. What’s not like?
