One-click video conversions with EasyBrake
If you need to convert videos into different formats but do not want to be bothered configuring the output first, EasyBrake may be the video converter you are looking for. All it takes is one click in the program interface to convert videos that you select into mkv format. That's not the only video output format available but it is the format that is automatically selected by EasyBrake if you do not make any selections in the program before running the converter.
A console window opens up after you have selected the videos that you want to convert with the help of the application. The program determines the optimal video and audio bitrate based on a number of parameters automatically. If you want more control over the process, click on the small icon on the top right side of the program window to display the configuration options.
Here you can either customize available parameters such as the audio and video bitrate, audio and subtitle language or video widths, or select one of the available profiles to quickly switch conversion settings. Profiles are available for Apple iOS devices such as the iPhone or iPad, Apple TV, Android, or normal and high profiles for PC playback.
The selected profile and its settings are then used for future conversions. The program supports a variety of input formats, from flv and avi to wmv and mpg. One interesting options that it makes available is a sample feature which enables you to create a one minute sample conversion using the selected parameters which you can use to judge the quality of the output.
On the plus side of things, it is easy to use and requires little to no adjustments or experience in the field of video conversions to be used properly. Experienced users on the other hand may find it too restrictive in terms of output video formats, as only mkv and mp4 are supported by the application. An option to rip DVD or Blu-Ray movies is missing as well. While you can add files from a VIDEO_TS folder you will notice that they are handled as separate video files by the application.
If you need an easy to use video conversion program that converts videos into mkv or mp4 format, then EasyBrake is definitely one to try out to see if it ticks all the right boxes for you. If you need a video converter that is more versatile than that, try one of the following instead: Video to DVD Converter, VLC Video Converter or Freemake Video Converter.
