Just a few days ago I was describing a method that would allow anyone to change passwords for all windows accounts using a boot cd and a program called NT Passwords. This is great if it does not matter if you change the password for, lets say, the administrators account. It might however be sometimes important to get into an account without the owner of the account knowing - and he would surely find out if his password would not be working anymore.

Do you need network services if you are not connected to a network ever with your computer that is running windows xp or windows nt ? No you don“t. Still network services are running as default services when you run windows and this leads to security risks which can be avoided by turning them off. The configure nt services securely website has unfortunatly only a small section of their tips in english but the rest should be understandable while using a translation service.
