Desktop Nexus is a site with a wide variety of high resolution and widescreen wallpapers. The wallpapers are divided into popular categories such as Entertainment, Video Games and Cars. Each category displays the most popular, the newest and a selection of random wallpapers from that category next to a tag cloud and sub categories that define the selection even further.

One main feature of Desktop Nexus is that wallpapers are available in a lot of different formats that suit full screen and widescreen monitors. Resolutions start at 800×600 for full screen monitors and end at 1600×1200 there. The widescreen wallpapers start at 1280×800 and 2560×1600.

It is Sunday again, time for the most interesting posts that I wrote during this week. It was a eventful week, I setup a web proxy server which is currently running in an open beta test. Everyone may use it to connect to blocked websites from the network at work or at his school / university. I need feedback to evaluate the proxy and decided if it should leave beta and be the proxy of choice.

Many wallpaper websites can be classified as spammy. They have to many ads, some use popups and other means of making a quick buck. Good wallpaper sites are therefor rare and deserve to be mentioned in an article. The over 1000 abstract wallpaper on a single page website offers what its page title suggests, a good way of viewing and downloading some or even all of the wallpapers offered on that page.

I found the freeware wallpaper changer at one tip a day a great blog that posts a useful tip every day. The wallpaper changer changes the current wallpaper in an interval between 15 minutes and 24 hours. It already has six nice wallpapers to in an album and it is easy to add new ones to it. You do not have to configure the program at all, just add some more wallpapers, delete some and set the interval, that is all.

Spam free wallpaper websites are rare these days and it does not happen every day that I find a new one which has enough quality wallpapers to get a recommendation on my site. The dont love me website is one of those which really deserves it. They offer more than 2000 quality wallpapers in about 20 categories ranging from 3D over Girls to XP wallpapers.

Mydeskcity is a hugh, and I mean really huge, high quality wallpaper website that is not overloaded with advertisement like most of the other wallpaper websites out there. The only drawback that I could find is that this website is not in english but Chinese (?), at least I think it is Chinese. Navigating it is easy nevertheless: The thumbnails on the main page depict the theme of the category, clicking on one of the numbers above the thumbnail leads to the corresponding page of the category.

I would like to give you the links to two great wallpaper sites that have almost no advertisment on their sites, unlike many other wallpaper sites that seem to bombard you with ads and popups. The first is joejoe.biz, a nice site if you are looking for nature wallpapers. He has some pretty interesting close-ups of animals and plants on his site.
