This can be unproblematic depending on the uploaded file and restrictions of the file hoster. Some file hosters only allow a certain amount of downloads, other have a bandwidth limit for files.

That’s where file mirrors can come in handy. A mirror is basically another server hosting the file. That requires more work on the uploaders part if done manually.

A service like MirrorCreator on the other hand offers to do the distribution for the user. It works by uploading the file once to the MirrorCreator service, which then distributes the file to up to 14 different file hosting services out of a list of 30 available ones. Several popular file hosting sites are supported including Megaupload, Hotfile, Rapidshare, File Factory or MediaFire.

MirrorCreator supports uploading files from a local computer system or from a remote location. To begin users need to select Upload from PC or Remote URL Upload to select the type of upload and either select a file from the PC or paste an URL into the form. It is furthermore possible to enter an email to receive a notification when the files have been uploaded.

Up to 14 different file hosting services can then be selected in the last step. Each service is listed with its name and file upload limit. A click on Upload sends the selected file to the service. It may take a while before the file is spread to all selected mirror services. A url is displayed in the end that links to all file hosting services the file was distributed to.

<img

This technique can for instance be used to offer a file for multiple users in short time, or as a backup if one file hoster deletes the file or lets it expire to early.

Neembuu Uploader is a straightforward program without bells and whistles. The Java application supports uploading of files to six different Internet file hosters. The supported hosters are easy-share.com, filedropper.com, filedude.com, hotfile.com, ifile.it and uploadmb.com.

To upload files, a user would simply pick a file from the local computer system and at least one of the six supported file hosters. It is alternatively possible to drag and drop files into the application window. That’s basically everything there is to it, and it really cannot get a lot easier than that.

File Upload

A click on Start Upload sends the file to all selected file hosters. The number of simultaneous file uploads can be changed right in the main interface. Users with fast upload speeds may want to increase the limit from the default limit of two.

It is possible to select multiple files at once in the file browser. These are then all added to the queue and processed according to the upload limitations specified in the program window.

Neembuu Uploader displays a file upload progress log that details file names and sizes, hosts, the upload status of each individual upload as well as the progress, and the upload and delete urls if available.

The file uploader keeps track of the files that are uploaded to the file hosts, and offers a history listing the relevant information.

The only other option available at this point in development is the ability to add a Hotfile account that will then be used to upload the files to that file hosting service.

Options are available to open selected file upload urls in the default web browser and to delete information that are no longer needed.

What’s missing? An option to export the available urls for starters, or the option to open a file url by left-clicking on its row in the file uploader. There are also no information on file hoster limitations, for instance if a hoster has a file size limit for uploads.

Neembuu Uploader Download And Compatibility

Neembuu Uploader is a Java application which means it requires a Java Runtime Environment. It works fine on Windows, and should run fine on other operating systems that support Java. The program is available for download at the Sourceforge project website.

Alternatives

Lots of alternatives are available, and we have reviewed our fair share of them. Among them File Uploader, a program that is currently supporting more than 150 different file hosts, the portable uploader <a

It does depend on the program though. Some of the comfortable programs that we have reviewed in the past include the file hosting upload manager File & Image Uploader and File Uploader.

Multi Uni Uploader is another program for that purpose. The free software supports dozens of different file hosts, including popular choices such as Imageshack, Hotfile, 2Shared, Mediafire or Easyshare.

The application displays all controls in the main interface. Actually, the only other menu available is the about menu. Everything else is handled in a single window.

To upload files, the user picks one of the supported file hosting services. It is possible to pick a single hoster from the list, or a service like MultiUpload, which distributes the file to multiple hosters. For some file hosters, the file type needs to be specified before the upload. The app displays the supported file types of the selected hoster in the log area.

Only single file uploads are supported. Files are added via the browse menu. Multi Uni Uploader will automatically calculate the MD5 hash of the file. A click on Start Upload sends the file to the hoster. Links are automatically retrieved and displayed in the interface so that they can be copied easily to the clipboard. This can be done manually, or by clicking on the CP button in the interface.

Multi Uni Uploader is an easy to use software to upload files to file hosters on the Internet. Some features would make the program more interesting, like abilities to batch upload files, configure proxy and connection settings or a history to keep track of uploaded files.

The portable software is available at the developer’s homepage over at <a

It is not the most user friendly thing to do, especially if file uploads exceed a few Megabytes on those sites.

Some users may even leave the page if they think that the upload takes to long, or will not complete at all.

Upload Progress is an add-on for the Firefox web browser that keeps tracks of uploads, so that the progress of each upload is always visible in the browser. This aids the uploader in determining the remaining time for the upload, something that would not be possible to find out otherwise.
<div

Without the use of a software users have to open their web browser, load the page of a file or photo hoster that they want to use as a storage provider, add the files to the form uploader and wait until the process finishes.

This can be quite time consuming especially if it has to be done on a regular basis.

ZUploader is a portable Open Source program for Windows that functions as a desktop uploader for images, files and text. It is in this regard similar to previously reviewed apps like File And Image Uploader with the exception that ZUploader is the first to support text hosting providers.

Image, file and text storage providers can be selected from the drop menu in the main interface. ZUploader currently supports six image uploaders including Imageshack and Tinypic, five file uploaders including Rapidshare and Drop.io and four text uploading services including Pastebin and Paste2.

ZUploader

New files can be dragged and dropped into the program interface, the upload is then initiated automatically by the application using the configured file hoster for the file type. Text files are for instance automatically uploaded to the text upload host while photos are uploaded to the configured image uploader.

Dragging and dropping is however not the only option to upload files to the Internet. Another option are the upload buttons in the ZUploader interface. Clipboard upload will automatically upload the contents of the clipboard to an appropriate provider, File upload opens a file browser to select files to upload manually. Only one file can be selected in the file browser at once though which is not comfortable if many of files need to be uploaded. The drag and drop option would be more suitable in this case.

A third upload option is available in the program’s settings. Here shell integration can be activated to add ZUploader to the Windows Explorer context menu. This sends selected files automatically to the uploader.

Multiple files will spawn multiple program windows though, something that the developers should work on.

ZUploader supports uploading to ftp servers as well. The ftp server details are configured in the settings, it can then be selected from the drop down menus. The file uploader can theoretically be configured to always upload the data to the ftp server instead of the pre-configured file hosting services.

<a

They offer a comfortable solution of sharing files with other users over the Internet without having to cope with email attachment size limits which usually make large sized file trades very uncomfortable. Some users want to make sure that their uploaded files will be available for other users to download. A good way to achieve this is to upload the files to multiple file hosting services to have mirrors if one of the file hosts should take a file upload down (due to inactivity, transfer limits or other issues).

Load2All can upload files to multiple file hosting websites at once. The service currently supports 19 different file hosting services among them Rapidshare, 2Shared or File Factory. Each file host can be selected on the main page individually.

There are two options that make Load2All unique when it comes to file uploading services. It can split large files into multiple files if the size of the uploaded file should exceed the limit of the supported file hosting services. That’s very interesting for users who usually upload large files to these services. Load2All will automatically pack the files as rar files and split them into multiple archives if a file size limit would be exceeded by the upload.

Even better is the fact that it will do that only for the services where the limit would be exceeded. The other option is to make use of a Rapidshare or Megaupload Collector account to earn points from the uploaded files. The Rapidshare login information need to be entered in this case in the web form.

Finally it is also possible to enter an email address which will then be used by the file uploading service to notify the user about the created links at the selected file hosting websites. <a

This had to be done manually back in the days but in the last months several services have appeared on the Internet that would distribute uploaded files to multiple file hosting services.

Mirror Fox is a rather new service that will distribute files that are uploaded to the website to 14 different file hosting services. The services has an upload limit of 500 Megabytes per file and can be used anonymously. Upload speed to the service and distribution speed was excellent during tests. Files with a size of about ten Megabytes were distributed almost instantly to the other file hosting services and available for download almost immediately.

Mirror Fox will create one url on their server that lists the links pointing to the uploaded file on the other file hosting websites. A status is displayed that indicates if the upload to the specific file hosting service was successful or a failure. The status will also display if the upload is still in progress.

The initial links that are pointing to the file hosting servers are routed through a Linkbucks advertisement page. This should not be a huge problem for most users who have the opportunity to copy and paste the direct links to the files afterwards.

Speed and performance are usually better if a service is new and not swarmed by users. It can very well be that the performance of the file uploading and mirroring service degrades with a rise in popularity.

Mirror Fox supports remote uploads as well. The user has to provide an url that is pointing to a file that is between 1 and 100 Megabytes in size. The service will automatically distribute the file to the various file hosting websites. These file sharing sites differ in several parameters including the allowed upload file size, number of downloads and bandwidth, account requirements, additional limitations like time limits and several others.

Most do not offer unlimited bandwidth and those that do usually last not very long unless they add restrictions to their file hosting service. Save As is a new promising file hosting service that offers a simple interface and simple rules.

Everyone is allowed to upload files of any size. The process takes only a few seconds to initialize. All that needs to be done is to click on the select file button to open the file browser. Only one file can be selected and it might be a good idea to zip multiple files to upload them as an archive all at once.

<span

This page displays a direct link to the download, a link using the short url service bitly and several statistics about the upload.

The links pointing to the file are good for 24 hours. The file will be automatically deleted from the Save As servers after that time. There do not seem to be any download or user restrictions in that time period however.

File Upload Software

Software

Windows

file host

file hoster

file upload

portable software

upload files

windows software
<guid

They allow users to host files on their web servers which can be advantageous when distributing the files to multiple recipients. While some file hosts offer software programs to upload files to their web servers others only provide access to a web interface. The File and Image Uploader is a free software program that can be used to upload files to more than 150 file and image hosts. This is great for users who work regularly with different file hosters but also for those who use a file hoster that does not offer a software for uploading files.

The main functionality is easily accessible from the main menu. A click on the + icon opens a menu that can be used to add files or folders to the upload queue. The user has to select an appropriate file hoster from the pulldown menu. Several option settings are available including if an account should be used or if to large files should be split into smaller parts. It is possible to add multiple files or folders this way which will then all be added to the upload queue.

Accounts for websites that support them can be added in the program’s settings. The options contain a large amount of settings. Next to the account selection are different profiles, connection settings including proxy configuration and the removal of file hosts from the list of available sites. The program will upload two files at the same time which can also be changed in the options.

File Uploader is a portable software program for the Windows operating system.

Gazup Multiple File Hosts Uploader

The Web

file host

file hosts

file hosts uploader

gazup

megaupload

rapidshare

rapidspread

upload files

Uploadjockey

web service

Gazup is another online service that provides its users with the means to upload files to multiple file hosts at once. It works like previously mentioned Rapidspread and UploadJockey by providing an interface that supports the selection of multiple file hosts. The file hosts uploader supports file hosts like Rapidshare, Megaupload and seven additional file hosts all with upload capacities between 100 and 500 Megabytes each.

The file upload service works by selecting the mirror sites that the file should be uploaded to in the first step. After that the file has to be uploaded to the Gazup servers. It is alternatively possible to pick the remote upload option instead which makes it possible to paste urls that point to files in a form which get then downloaded by Gazup. Once the files have been uploaded either way they get distributed by Gazup to the selected file hosts.

This is shown visually on a new page listing the current upload status of each individual file host. The download links are shown when an upload has finished successfully. This link can be copied and pasted as usual.

Gazup does offer special sharing links for forums, websites and friends. It is a simple code that can be embedded in the context. It does link to the main Gazup page where the user has the option to select one of the available file hosts mirrors. This is excellent for users who regularly upload files for forums and websites and want to make sure that the files are still available after some time.

via <a

It is usually faster than loading the website in a browser. Many software programs do also keep track of files that have been uploaded so that it becomes easier to manage the links that are created in the process.

File and Image Uploader (via Download Squad) is just one software program for that task. It supports the surprisingly large number of 70+ file upload sites on the Internet including the popular file hosters Rapidshare, Megaupload and Filefactory. It should also be mentioned that several premium services are supported as well if the user has access to a premium account.

It usually takes only a few clicks to upload a file to an image hoster. A click on the + sign in the software will display a file browser which can be used to select one or multiple files from the computer system. After that it is only a matter of selecting the right file host for the task to start the upload.

Premium account owners can specify that they want to use their premium account for the uploads. It is also possible to queue or pause the uploads and select to upload files or images. Possible restrictions of the currently select file hosts will be displayed in a form at the bottom.

The files will be added to the main interface and the upload progress will be displayed. The name of the file and the link to the upload host will be displayed once the upload has been completed. The embed codes of uploaded images will be displayed in the software as well. This ensures that all relevant information are displayed directly in the software program and that the links can be checked even at a later time. Parallel uploading is supported by File And Image Uploader.

Dropbox Review and Invites

The Web

Tools

dropbox

file host

file hosting

files

upload files

Dropbox is a file hosting solution with a few nice features that make it stick out of the masses of file hosters. It provides its users with a client for Windows and Macintosh computers which can be used to upload files to Dropbox. The transfer of those files works in the background while the user moves the files into an Explorer like window.

Several computers can be authorized to access an account at Dropbox making it an effective way to work with files between those registered computers. Files can be downloaded at anytime and it is even possible to look at Revisions of those files. The so called Drop Box works much like the Windows Explorer. Files and folders can be added, deleted, renamed which will be automatically synced with the online interface of Dropbox.

Files can be recovered or purged in the web interface if they have been deleted on a registered computer. This is excellent if a file has been deleted by accident.

A public folder is available that can make files available for the public which basically means that the user can copy an url that gives access to the file or files in that folder.

Shared folders on the other hand are useful for project and team work. Every member that gets added to that folder can perform all file and folder operations which, in combination with the revision system, provides an easy to use way of handling project files.

Dropbox is definitely easy to use. There is no irritating progress bar or window during file uploads, everything is handled in the background. The current beta accounts can use 2 Gigabytes of free storage, it would be nice to see a feature where users who share folders can add part of their own storage to that shared folder. A Linux client is currently tested internally and will be available to all Beta testers pretty soon.

Plans are that the 2 Gigabyte account will remain free for all users and that Dropbox will earn their money with accounts that demand additional storage space and premium features.

I would like to thank Dark Kosmos for sending me the invite. I have ten invites of my own right now and would like to give them away here. Just post a comment and I will draw the lucky ten after a while.

Update:

Jon from Dropbox contacted me and promised to supply more invites for his website. I therefor invited the first nine users who left a comment for now and will invite the others once I receive additional invites!
