Software Updates Checker
One of the main disadvantages of the Windows operating system is the lack of an internal application handling third party software updates on the computer system. An automatic update system like that offered in the Linux operating system would be increasing system security and stability of the Windows operating system. So Long Pidgin.
Last week I posted an article discussing some of the issues with messaging application Digsby, and why for now I chose to instead use Pidgin. My conclusion was that although Digsby is a fantastic messaging client with good design and features, the 70mb+ RAM usage became just too much to put up with. Only a [...]

Firefox 2.0.1 out
You now the drill. The mozilla team populates the ftp servers and global mirrors before they make the official announcement that firefox 2.0.1 has been released. You may however download the new update of firefox prior to the announcement. It probably does not make a lot of sense for many users to update using one of the ftp mirrors instead of waiting one or two days to download it from the official site or the update function.
