This sounds like one of those plots to conquer the world in comic series like Pinky & The Brain. The Piratebay (and fellowship) are planing to raise enough money to buy the Principality of Sealand located in the North Sea off the coast of Suffolk. I’m not sure if they really intend to buy Sealand because the sovereignty was never recognized by another country.

While downloading the latest version of the bittorrent client BitComet it came to my mind that I never wrote an article about this excellent client here at ghacks. I have written about Azureus and uTorrent which I have tried both but not about the client that I’m personally using because I think it is the best one of the bunch. I like BitComet because of several reasons: speed, usability and because it is using low resources.

Funny. I made the switch from BitComet to uTorrent two days ago and was using the first release candidate of uTorrent 1.6 with great pleasure. It´s faster and uses less system ressources than Bitcomet.

I´am not using bittorrent that often anymore but it is still a great way of transfering large files. You see less complaints of people about low download speeds but certainly there are some that are having troubles downloading at a great speed. This can be of course torrent related, if you don´t have many seeders or only seeders with low upload speeds you will experience a slow download.

You might have heard that the Swedish police raided the internet company that hosted among others the piratebay.org servers. They managed to seize all servers hosted in the datacenter meaning not only servers that were connected to the piratebay were taken from the net but also servers of independent companies and individuals that were not connected to the piratebay by any means. Lots of people replied to this article and added more sites that they used to get free music. Free, meaning free of charges and free to download without breaking the law.
