The application offers quick access to often used tools or functions reducing the time it takes to complete the desired operations in the operating system. Most operations are accessible in the Tools menu with the exception of quick links to Check Disk, Defrag and Disk Cleanup which are linked in the main interface.

The Tools menu links to seven different programs: Process Flusher, SysCommand, File Destruct, Net Tool, Renamer, Directory Destruct and File Organizer.

<span

Files and directories will be overwritten numerous times to ensure that they cannot be recovered with file recovery software.

The File Organizer organizes files of a folder into subfolders based on their file extension. Available are image files, applications, text files, shortcuts, everything else and a custom file extension.

The Net Tool displays various network related information including the Internet status and current IP address. It also offers a port test, router login, renew and release commands and FlushDNS.

The remaining tools might be helpful in certain situations as well. The usability of the program could be better as it would be a lot easier to access the different programs directly from the program’s interface and not through the Tools menu instead.

Black Coffee is probably the number one drink of system administrators throughout the world except maybe in the UK where they drink tea and in France where they drink wine (just joking guys). Black Coffee is a lightweight tool for system administrators to tweak settings in Windows. It was specifically designed to aid system administrators in modifying user and local administrator windows settings.

The software program can be run by system administrators and users of the system. The users can only look at the settings but do not have rights to change them. The program is divided into the three main categories Computer, Current User and IE.

Most of the program consists of checkboxes that enable or disable certain options. The computer category contains a few interesting options like disabling the ability to shutdown Windows, disabling Windows hotkeys or to always install applications with elevated privileges.

<span

One to look out for.

Update: A free version of Black Coffee is no longer provided. The software itself is now commercial and available for about $20 at the developer website. New features have been added to the program, including support for Microsoft’s latest operating system Windows 7 and its server pendant Windows Server 2008 R2.

New features have also been added which include keylogging, url blocking and an administrator password to protect the software from unauthorized access.

Many of the features of Black Coffee are also available in other tweaking software. Take a look at applications like <a
