Streets of Rage Remake lets you fight alone, with a computer at your side and with a second human on the same computer fighting on the same computer against the enemies. The game supports one gamepad which means that the other human player would have to use the keyboard to play the game.

The game uses the typical three buttons of the 16-bit Genesis system. Use C to attack, V to jump and X for a devastating special attack. The B button seems to be a unique feature calling the police who smartbomb the whole screen.

It’s more fun with two players of course but the single player mode plays fine as well. Great free game, if you like those fighting games you should definitely take a look. Download is about 70 megabytes.

You take control of a fighter that you chose out of ten at the moment, two slots are black, it could be that you have to beat the game to make them available, I have not come that far. It´s a 2-D old school fighting game, you are on the left side, your opponent on the right and you try to beat him before he manages to beat you.

If you manage to beat him you confront the next opponent aso. Great game, superb graphics and animations for a flash game.

Update: The original web hosting site the game was hosted on is no longer available. I have discovered another version of the game, called Street Fighter II Champion Edition which lets you play the game online as well.

The game stays true to its origin, graphics and music are superb, as is the game play. You basically select a Street Fighter character that you want to play. Available for selection are the following characters: Ryu, Ken, Honda, Chun-li, Blanka, Guile, Zangief, Dhalsim, Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M.Bison.

The game is difficulty to play with the keyboard, considering that you have to use six keys for various punches and kicks, plus the cursor keys for moving the character around on the screen.

The game features some of the special moves which even add to the complexity of the title. You can click on the question mark in the top right to see a list of available combos.

Keys can be changed which may be helpful if you are left-handed or prefer a different key layout.
