B-movies are low cost or budget movies set in a certain genre like Horror or Science Fiction. Not all have been bad movies and some were the first part to fame for actors such as Jack Nicholson or John Wayne. Bmovies.com is a website that makes available hundreds of B-movies to viewers from all over the world. The real beauty is that those movies can be streamed – and thus watched – on the website .

Currently four categories are available, those are: horror, science fiction, kung fu and wild westerns. The main website lists the top five movies of the four categories with brilliant masterpieces such as Metropolis, Battle of the Worlds and Carnival of Souls.

Each movie has its own website with additional information about actors, year of release, playing time and rating which can be a good indicator of the quality of the movie. All movies begin with a one minute commercial which is understandable because of the bandwidth costs of streaming those movies.

I would say the quality is a little bit better than that of Youtube videos. It looks like a 800×600 resolution that the videos are played in. Most movies have a running time between 1 and 1.5 hours.

If you thought that Androids are a product of the not so near future you thought wrong. What you witnessed in movies like I-Robot, Star Wars and Star Trek is becoming more and more reality in todays live. Yes that is right: today. Scientists still have to take care of many elements like movement and artificial intelligence to create the next C3PO but they are definitely on the right track if you can’t distinguish between Androids and humans anymore in pictures, movies and even reality.

Without further ado, here is the top 5 list of the Androids of this world that resemble humans in many aspects already. I personally find that a bit scary, maybe because I did watch to many Science Fiction movies, or maybe because it is..

Star Wars Episode IV in Ascii

The first 20 minutes of Star Wars Episode IV in Ascii using Java. This one is well done and worth a look. Great animations for Ascii, never thought something like this would be possible.

Update: It is interesting to note that the animation is still available on the site it was published on. Please note that it requires Java to be enabled on your system to run the animation.

controls are provided at the bottom of the animation that let you control the frames. You can go back and forward just a bit or a lot, and fast forward or backward.

It is also interesting to note that all dialogs are displayed in the animation as text. This feels natural considering that these kind of animations do not come with sounds at all.

Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope, is considered by many to be the best film of the series. While some would argue that Episode V or VI are indeed better, it is likely that not a single human being would say that the recent episodes are better (that is Episode I to III).

The animation lags at times, which can be attributed to the technology used. The animation does not use 25 or more frames per second, it is more like a stop motion kind of experience where screen objects are moved around more or less abruptly.

The animation ends in the prison block on the Death Star. It is unlikely that the developers will ever continue it. Oh, and there is a Rickroll in the end as well.

You can load other animations like the Death of Jar Jar Binks, who without doubt is the most hated Star Wars character of all times.
