In that case, it would be the right time to get up and check what the world looks like from outside too (alright, maybe I’m not the right person to give such advice). Or if it’s too cold to go out at the moment, you may be interested in these advisory lists providing links to websites that are special in a certain way.

SurfDirections.com is an advanced list of the best internet website picks to help you find some interesting places in the Internet maze. Individual sites are sorted in several categories ranging from purely informational to entertaining ones. Each of them can be rated using a 3-bar system evaluating its design, content and overall quality; comments are supported as well. Containing almost 500 links so far and offering the possibility of suggesting new sites to be added to the list for everyone, SurfDirections becomes a deep fountain of sorted and public-rated internet resources.

Along with previously mentioned site, I’d like to mention a similar one which is a little bit different by featuring links to websites standing out especially because of their unique design and appearance. StandOutAwards.com maintains a list of such places for you to explore and admire. You can also submit a site to be considered and perhaps added into the list.

I personally hate sites containing flash scripts without clear aim, only for the purpose of making them look more 2.0, but the ones included in these lists are often flash-based but with a purpose and incredible beauty. Let me recommend taking a look at one particular website that definitely caught my attention with its design. It’s probably the best-designed one I’ve ever seen so far. Sharp and clear eye-catching design and graphics, pleasant background music, overall precision – simply amazing. Connected Internet blog and thought that it would be nice to round up all the Online Services that we can’t live without anymore. I’m not speaking about Email, Usenet or ICQ but websites that offer something that you really enjoy, would recommend and don’t want to miss anymore.

There is not that much online that I would really miss because there is always an alternative to it. I really like Netvibes, the news aggregator which has a slick interface but I would be able to switch as easily to Rootly or Google Reader if the site would die. Then there is the Digital Points forum which is an excellent forum for every webmaster and I would miss it dearly.

Google of course is the one major search engine but there surely would be another one probably not as good but good enough to be used. I’m using del.icio.us and digg occasionally but those are not sites that I would really miss if they were gone.

So, I would recommend the Digital Point forum to Webmasters if I had to name one site. What about you ? Is there a site that you can’t live without and would recommend ?
