Than the Flash game Waterfalls 3 may be exactly what you are looking for. It is the player’s task to redirect color streams to fill all the white circles on the map with those colors. The game begins easy with one or two color streams and only a few elements to redirect them.

Available for selection are elements that redirect a color stream to a specific direction (e.g. right or down), that split color streams or teleport them to another exit. Most elements can be placed with the mouse at another location on the screen. Some elements on the other hand are fixed at their position which adds to the difficulty of the level.

The game comes with a level selector to select unlocked maps directly. In the beginning though you are stuck with level 1 and need to work your way towards level 25, the last level of the game.

The puzzle game is not overly difficulty, but that was not probably the intention of the game developer. It is a relaxing and entertaining puzzle game for players of all ages. I’d estimate that experienced players may need about 20 minutes to play through all the 25 levels of the game. Those that cannot get enough can load the predecessors of the game to continue playing. The first two parts of the game are linked from Waterfall 3 directly. Players who are stuck can lock at the walkthrough videos that demonstrate how elements need to be placed in each level to beat it.

Music and visuals are excellent. The game itself could use maps that are more difficulty to master. Interested gamers can play Waterfalls 3 directly at the Kongregate website. The game requires Adobe Flash Player to be installed as a plugin in the browser.

Prizma Puzzle Challenges [Game Saturday]

Games

browser game

game saturday

kongregate

puzzle
<guid

Today’s game is Prizma Puzzle Challenges, a browser based puzzle game in which you need to direct light – or is it a laser? – through various nodes to reach the exit of the level. In order to do that you need to keep an eye on the energy level in the lower left corner of the screen. This indicates the remaining number of nodes that you can connect. To make matters more complicated, you can never go back to a node. Once you activated it and left it, it is blocked so that you need to plan well in advance to get the right route from start to goal.

Since it would be pretty boring to just connect nodes, you will encounter all kinds of special nodes. Some give you energy back, others unblock regions or have the ability to break crystals which block your route to the finish.

The first ten or so levels should not be to much of a challenge for most gamers. Once you reach level ten things get a little bit more complicated as you know have multiple routes to take. Not all later levels are considerably more difficulty though. The Cannon Challenge levels for instance should not pose a problem for the majority of gamers.

But even if you are stuck in one level, you have the option to try a different zone first and come back later to the level that you could not complete.

Later levels are challenging. You may encounter multiple start locations or teleporters that add to the complexity of the solution. And if you are really stuck you can click on the Walkthrough button to watch a video walkthrough of all levels.

Prizma Puzzle Challenges is a great game for a break. You can complete most levels in less than a minute, provided that you find the right path right away. Some levels can be frustrating to complete, but since you can select others to continue playing that should not bother you to much.

You can play the game in your web browser over at <a

More than 350 million units have been sold since then and chance is you find one eventually at a friend’s house or even at your own. The majority of people who tried to solve the cube gave up in frustration, which maybe would not have happened if they would have taken a look at the How To Solve A Rubik’s Cube application first.

The free software offers an easy step by step guide that explains how to solve any cube. Each step shows a before and after image and the moves necessary to reach that stage.

All that it takes now to solve the Rubik’s Cube is to follow each step to the letter. It may take a bit longer on the first run but will speed up on consecutive tries until the guide is no longer needed to solve the cube and impress bystanders and those that cannot solve it.

There is also an advanced section that gives tips on how to solve the puzzle even faster. It requires some experience with solving cubes and more reading as the explanations require more text than the standard solving instructions.

How to solve a Rubik’s Cube is a handy portable application that teaches Rubik’s Cube owners who to solve the puzzle. The free software is available for download at the developer’s Blogspot website.

Want to try the solution without a Cube at hand? Try this online version to do that.

Update: The blog is no longer available, and so are the information on how to solve a Rubik’s Cube. An <a

He already knows how to move the mouse, click and drag objects and install Linux on a computer. (just kidding about the last one). He does very well and I thought it would be nice to play some jigsaw puzzles with him on the computer so that he would get used to mouse movement and ways of interacting with the screen and game.

The Jigetiser jigsaw puzzles display 18 different Christmas themed pictures and are available in five difficulties each. The first two difficulties use only a few big tiles and are perfect for children of age 4+ I think. The other three difficulties are for advanced users who have some time at their disposal. The tiles are smaller and of course there are more tiles.

The preview image will not be available on the last difficulty, all other difficulties show a preview image. Pieces are connected to each other by moving them next to each other. They can also be rotated clockwise by holding them with the left mouse button and pressing the right mouse button as well.

All 18 jigsaw puzzles offer family friendly pictures. The only distracting element is the advertisement on top and in the jigsaw puzzle itself. Still, the look and feel of this jigsaw puzzle game for the computer is very nice. And best of all, my nephew likes it.

<img

The goal is to fill the nine 3×3 grids with the numbers of 1 to 9 each and exclusively for the whole row and column. The concept itself is pretty simple but there are various difficulty levels that make it quite a challenge.

You may solve the easy levels by simply eliminating all other possibilities but this is not possible in hard or impossible mode. You start with fewer numbers in the grids and have to think around the corner to make it. Quite a challenge. <a

The download is only 400k in size and available for windows.
