The add-on for the Google Chrome browser basically crawls every page the user visits for mp3 links and displays the number of mp3s found in the icon that is placed in the Chrome address bar giving the user an indication of the music that can be found on the active website.

A click on the icon will open a small overlay window that can be used to play one, some or all of the music that was found on the website. The music player of the extension offers basic controls like changing the music volume or pausing and stopping playback.

<span

But that’s only one feature of Extension.fm. Even more interesting is the overview of music that has been added to the queue.

The extension lists the music by source, artist, albums and songs with options to play songs again right from the interface. Take a look at the video to see how easy it is to use the extension to play music.

<object

Users can request an invitation code, it took several days before we received ours. The extension does not work properly on all sites, it fails for instance on Jamendo or Sixeyes (where it recognizes the songs but cannot play them).

The developer has created a Google Group where users can discuss the extension. This is probably the right place to report sites that are not working correctly.

Grooveshark Lite Listen to Music Online

Cool

Entertainment

Music and Video

grooveshark

grooveshark lite

music

music search

play music
<guid

The interface is based on Flash and provides simultaneous navigation and uninterrupted playback. Users who do not have an account can enter an artist, album or song title in the search box and Grooveshark Lite will display information in five categories.

The categories are Songs, Artists, Albums, Playlista and Genres. If you enter an artist for instance you will find songs of that artist in the songs category and the albums in albums obviously. If you pick the albums category you can play all songs of a album which is a nice feature.

The music plays perfectly even if you switch tabs or minimize the browser. Registered users can create playlists of their favorite songs and Grooveshark Lite is recommending similar songs if any have been found.

<a

Naturally not all artists and songs can be found but if you are looking for popular artists, charts stuff and even popular artists in a certain genre you will find them at Grooveshark Lite.

The website is connected to Grooveshark, could be some kind of teaser website to make Grooveshark more popular. If that is the case they will definitely succeed.
