I sometimes use a screenshot software to save a single image that I need but if its about several or even all images of a PDF document then a tool like Some PDF Image Extract is the application of choice simply because it is so much faster than the manual approach.

PDF Image Extract was designed with ease of use in mind. The user can load multiple pdf documents at once which are then queued in the main program window. Information about each pdf document are provided in the lower pane.

The right contains settings for the output images. The range of pages that shall be processed can be selected as well as the output quality and format of the images.

<span

The images are saved into newly created directories in the pdf document root folders.

Convert a full website to PDF

Knowledge

Software

The Web

Tools

adobe pdf

create pdf

pdf

pdf tips

website to pdf
<guid

I knew that there were several ways to convert a single page to pdf but I was not so sure about complete websites. I started to perform all kinds of searches but never came up with a free software that would convert a full website to PDF. That is, until I stumbled upon the most obvious choice of them all: The trial version of Adobe Acrobat.

Adobe Acrobat can be used as a trial version for 30 days and it actually does have the exact functionality that Victor is looking for. You can download it directly from Adobe with some nagging done by them. Before you can download the file you need to register an account and request the download link which will be send to your email account. My advise to Adobe is that if they want to lower their sales further they should make it even more complicated for users to download the trial versions.

Download and installation take a while since the download has a size of more than 250 Megabyte. Once installed though everything could not be more fluent. Press the keyboard shortcut SHIFT CTRL O or click on the Create PDF > From Web Page button. A menu opens that is asking for a url and offering several options on how to proceed from here.

You can specify the levels from the originating page or that you want to convert the whole website. It is normally a good idea to stay on the server and even on the path. If you do not do this the PDF could really download a lot of unrelated pages from other websites or areas of the same website. You will see the transfers in a box and the final version of the document will be shown at the end.

Works perfectly. The result can then be saved in the end as a pdf document.

How to speed up pdf loading time

Advice

pdf

pdf tips
<guid

Did you ever try to view a pdf document that was available on the web ? The reader tends to load very slowly although the document itself might be only a few hundred kilobytes. This is bothering me and I suppose it´s bothing a lot of people who are using the Adobe Reader to view pdf files.

The reason why it is loading so slow is simple. Adobe Reader is loading plugins when it starts and this increases load times tremendously. Most people don´t need all of the plugins, the trick to speed up loading times of the Adobe Reader would be to remove unused plugins. To do this browse to your plug_ins directory of your Adobe installation and move plugins into a newly created folder called optional.

The default directory for Adobe Reader 7 would be for instance C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\plug_ins

Make sure you remove all plugins except the following ones: EWH32.api, print*.api, and Search*.api

Load a pdf afterwards and see how fast it loads and check if you miss a feature. If you do try to find out which plugin is needed for the feature and move it into the plug_ins folder again.

<a
