The Outlook Duplicate Items Remover is a free program for the Windows operating system that can clear – or to be more precise move – duplicate items in Microsoft Outlook. It scans the Outlook contacts, notes, appointments, tasks and emails for duplicate items. This is done by comparing specific variables. For email contacts to be duplicate for example they need to match the first name, last name, company name and email address.

The Outlook software moves all duplicate items into the ODIR_duplicate items folder where they can be processed further. The program works quite well although some Outlook users might find it a bit to limiting as there is no way to change the variables that are compared to find duplicates. Outlook Duplicate Items Remover would for instance fail to find a duplicate contact entry if the name and company matches but not the email.
