A practical example would be to store files and directories in a different location than they have to reside in. This could be the Firefox profile directory, a Skype directory or the Windows Documents and settings folder. You basically tell Windows to look into the original folder but also in the linked folder for files.

NTFS Link offers three ways of creating hard links and junctions. The first and probably easiest way is by dragging and dropping a file or folder with the right mouse button to another location. The others are by making use of the New parameter in the right-click menu in Windows Explorer while the last works by right-clicking on an empty folder only.

Taskbar Resize Tool is a small program for Windows Vista that can alter the heights of individual items in the Windows Vista taskbar. The software requires the installation of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (download) before the program can be executed. The software itself comes with a English and Chinese interface.

The software is portable and will display a slider after execution which can be used to change the height of the taskbar items.

A click on the Apply button will change the size of each item immediately. All settings will be reverted after a restart which is why the only option in the program interface is to add the application to system startup.

The print management software displays the local and remote printers along with connected domains in the main interface. The status of each printer and the assigned print jobs are displayed next to each printer which provides a great overview. Selecting a printer in the left menu will display the print jobs with information about the name, computer, document and status of each print job.

A right-click on a print job will provide options to cancel, resume, restart and preview among other options. The print management software will display print job information such as the number of pages and copies, time and date, paper size, duplex mode and position in the queue among other information with the option to edit the properties of each print job.

Managing the print jobs is however only one feature of Remote Queue Manager Personal. A click on the Resources tab will display information about ports, drivers, forms, monitors and processors. It is possible to configure print servers and ports with the print management software. It is for instance possible to open the driver’s manufacturer website to download drivers to add but also remove them.
