id="more-1389"> The result is the free video conversion software called Ipod Video Converter. It serves only one purpose and that is to convert most video files into apple ipod video format. It supports the most common formats such as avi, divx, mpg, flv, xvid and so on.

Just add videos that you want to convert to the Ipod video converter or select youtube videos and click on convert when everything has been added. The process does not take long and the best feature of this software is that it works fine with the default settings. No need to tweak them in any way. Excellent for beginners.

Videos are saved by default in the files directory, you may choose a different standard directory if you have files from many different locations in the queue.

iPod City Guide

iPod

Tools

ipod-city-guide

ipod-information

ipod-journey

ipod-nano

ipod-travel

ipod-video
<guid

Wikipedia can be uploaded as well as information about subways in various citys. The iPod city guide is another excellent application for most iPods, including iPod Nano and iPod Video, which adds information about more than 300 cities to your iPod. Only 4-5 can be added at the same time to your iPod because the amount of notes that the iPod can store is limited.

This is excellent if you are travelling a lot. Information are displayed in categories including the useful attractions, hotels, restaurants and nightlife. The iPod City Guide is available for Mac and Windows and has to be downloaded and run from your computer to sync the information with your iPod. You may add all or only some of the citys that are available in the guide.

Please note that you will have to enable your iPod as a hard disk to be able to use this application. To do this enable the option Disk use in the iTunes options.

You can remove certain categories that you do not need from the city information to be able to store more cities with less information in your iPod. It is also possible to add information like hotels or restaurants to the iPod.

iPod Gym exercise movies

iPod

apple

exercise

free

gym

ipod-video

video
<guid

Ipod Gym offers more than 80 free movies of exercises in the right format that can be directly transferred to the iPod. Most movies do not have sounds at the current stage but are subtitled which should be enough for must users.

Exercises are divided into four categories, namely Free Weights, Machines, Core Strength and Swiss Ball. Every category contains several movies which are sorted by description, rating and movie size. Exercises are rated starting with exercises for beginners to exercises for advanced+ users. It is always recommended to use those movies with greatest care and ask a professional trainer if problems arise.

A quick look at the Swiss Ball category displays all the movies that are listed in it. It starts with the movie that explains how to select the correct Swiss Ball for the exercises and ends with the very, very advanced free squat on ball movie.

You actually do not need an iPod to use the videos. A video player such as VLC is also able to play the movies. You could also convert them into a different format if you use another video player that uses different formats.

Videora iPod Video Converter

Tools

apple ipod

iPod

ipod video converter

ipod-video

Videora iPod Converter is a free video conversion application developed by the creators of Videora. It allows you to convert your regular PC video files (avi, mpeg, etc) into the proper video format that your iPod understands.

iPod Video Converter

Videora iPod Converter begins to re-encode AVI and MPEG files into high-resolution formats that can be played on your iPod. The program searches for the video files that you specify in the search queries. You can convert existing videos from your PC and convert DVDs as well as YouTube videos downloaded by Videora. It is slightly confusing to use at first, but becomes more familiar the more you use it. Videora iPod Converter demonstrates its true abilities best with downloads from specific search queries and seems to have complications with existing PC video files.

Once the download is finished, the program will launch and the very first screen you will see displays all of the iPod models so that you can select the model you will be using for the conversion transfer. Through all of the steps, there are instructions loaded with advertisements, which is admittedly annoying and not helpful at all. Despite this, you can progress to easier conversion eventually.

After selecting the device, the main interface will open. Click on the video tab.

In the upper pane, you will see a description of two modes to use for conversion.

Normal Mode – This mode is supposed to instruct you through the video conversion process “step by step”. In reality, it may not do that at all. You will be able to select the video file to convert, but once you click “Convert file”, nothing happens. Perhaps other users have a different experience.

Power Mode – This mode is intended for more experienced users who are familiar with the different file types and are able to specify output file locations and proper formats for the output files. Using this mode directs you to a panel in which you select the file to be converted and choose the output directory, the device, and the profile. However, it works instead of freezing. There is a Troubleshoot option if you click the Back button so that you can figure this out if you have any difficulties.

Videora does have some nice features. It can be programmed to automatically convert new file downloads to an iPod compatible format. This means that you don’t have to go through each step once this is set up; Videora will do it for you. TV shows, sports, news and movies are sent straight to your iPod. All you have to do is connect your device to your PC during a time when it is not being used. This is quite a cozy feature for a free iPod video converter. It is also capable of converting every type of video file: avi, divx, xvid, flv, x264, vob, mpeg, DVDs, YouTube, and anything else you could think of. All of these are converted to MPEG-4 and H.264 formats which are iPod formats.

For DVD conversion, you will need another program in addition to Videora. A DVD ripper is required for decryption of any DVD format so that it can be converted to a larger format for the video converter to translate it to iPod compatibility. Overall, this program is tricky to start with, but becomes a “set it and forget it” service once all of your personal settings are in place.

Yahoo Movie Search for your Ipod Video

Tools

iPod

ipod-video

yahoo movie

yahoo movie search
<guid

Worry no further, I present you an easy way to get the videos you want from the Yahoo Movie Site.

All you need is to go to ysearchblog.com and follow these easy steps.

1. Enter one or more search terms into the Yahoo! Video Search RSS URL Generator textfield.
2. Copy the RSS feed url that appears below the textfield by right clicking and selecting copy link location
3. Start iTunes 6, select the Advanced Menu and Subscribe to Podcast.
4. Paste the copied url into the appearing window by right clicking and selecting paste.
5. iTunes will download all search results, you will have to click on the arrow on the left side of your search term to have them displayed.
6. Select the movies you want to download.
7. Transfer the movies to your Ipod Video.

Update: Yahoo Video Search is now integrated into the Yahoo search homepage. Just visit Yahoo Search and click on the Video tab to search for video contents on the site.

It is however no longer possible to directly transfer the movies and videos to iTunes and then on to your iPod, iPhone or other Apple device. The easiest way to do this at the moment is to use a program like Miro Video Converter in combination with a video downloader such as Freemake Video Downloader, Miro, Video Cache View or check our How to download YouTube videos guide for additional desktop programs and online services that let you download videos that are hosted on YouTube.

You can then load the downloaded videos into iTunes to move them onto your iPod Video or other iOS device.
