I’m sometimes amazed by new Firefox extensions that get developed. One of those that surely has its uses is the Firefox iPhone Emulator extension which is currently an experimental build. Don’t expect to control the Apple iPhone with all its features in Firefox. It currently offers the iPhone interface and the ability to navigate websites. While this does not sound like much it could provide to be very useful for webmasters.

If you ever wanted to know how your website looks like when opened from someone using an iPhone or mobile phone then this iPhone emulator will deliver that right in Firefox. No other emulator or experiments are needed to achieve this.

The display of my own website is definitely not optimal. I never gave much thought to it before but I think it is a good idea to search for solutions on how to provide users with these devices a better experience on my website.

Just install the extension as usual and start it from Tools > Launch Iphone Emulator.
