The portable software program supports all three options and comes with enough advanced features to make this an interesting option even for large textual information. A text index is an index of a single text that has been copied and pasted into the application. The user can alternatively point the app to a supported document on the local computer system. File indexes are indexes of multiple text files whereas keyword indexes index specific keywords of selected files.

The above screenshots shows a file index created by the program. Index Author analyses the text or files to find the most important words. It will then create an index of these words which can be saved as text, an index (idx) file or copied to the clipboard. It is furthermore possible to copy html code of the index to create a html file on the local computer system.

Several options are available that modify the output of the program. It is for example possible to use filters to exclude lower or upper case words, html tags, to define a minimum word length or use a whitelist and blacklist for the index.

The design of the index can be changed between html and text in the options. Index Author is an interesting program for users who want to create indexes of files or text. It is compatible with the Windows operating system and can be CD to HTML can create an html file that contains information about a directory, its subdirectories and files. The source directory can be any folder or drive connected to the Windows installation which makes it an excellent tool to create an index of files before burning them to CD or DVD. That index file could then be included on the media to provide users with fast access to all files on the disc.

The process itself is fast and simple. The source directory is chosen at the beginning. The user has the choice to select a CD drive directly or browse the computer to pick another folder.

The target folder and filename of the html file is defined in the second step. CD to HTML will automatically pick the name of the root folder as the title of the html file. The title can be changed in the same menu as well if another title is preferred.

<span

This means that it’s important to create the html file in the root folder if you pick a folder on the hard drive as the source.

The program provides an option to create a autorun.inf file which is useful if you want to burn the html file and files to CD later on.

The html file that is created lists all folders and files on a per folder basis providing information about file sizes, creation date and time.

Download free music at the Hype Machine

Cool

Entertainment

The Web

hype-machine

index

itunes

mp3

music

music-blogs

playlist

stream

winamp
<guid
