I recently wrote an article about Free Music Zilla which allowed everyone to download ten songs per day with ease from many social music portals. Ten songs however is not enough for most users which is why I would like to introduce another possibility that I wrote about earlier this year already.

I suggest to use the combination of Grab++ and Orbit Downloader. Grab++ is integrated in Orbit Downloader which means that you will only have to download the latter to have both softwares at your disposal. Start Grab++ and visit Myspace. Go to a band’s website on myspace. Usually a song will begin to play automatically. Bring Grab++ to the front and click on the Music tab in the top bar.

A large random looking filename with the extension mp3 should be in that list. This is the song that is currently playing on Myspace. All you need to do is check that song and click on Download. This opens the download dialog of Orbit Downloader. I suggest to change the name of the mp3 so that you can remember the artist and song title.

The download should be finished in a matter of seconds and you are ready to click on the next song. Once that is playing you repeat the steps in Grab++.

The same technique can be used to download music from other social music portals like Imeem and iJigg. This is by far the best and easiest way that I know of.

Read More:

<a

Users post songs to iJigg and everyone else may vote for the songs and comment on them. Every song can be played on their website and even embedded in websites.
I personally do not like the layout of the site that much. The popular songs are displayed when you visit iJigg and you can navigate to the most recent songs as well. The option to filter certain genres or languages is available in the right menu. I had serious difficulties with the language filter though, it would show non-English titles even if I filtered all languages except English.

IJigg is a social music website much like the popular Digg. To save the songs you need the excellent Grab++ which has to be run in the background when you play a song. This little application displays the exact location of all media files which can then be downloaded with a download manager.

Grab++ has been created by the same developers that brought you the Orbit Downloader. I use both programs to find the songs and download them.

All you need to do is start Grab++, click on the Music tab and visit iJigg and play songs there. Once a song is started at iJigg the url of the mp3 will be shown in Grab++. Right-click the mp3 and select download from the menu.

Songs are not properly named most of the time which can only be done manually, but this is not really a big drawback unless you plan to download hundreds of songs.
