It is therefore only natural that most webmasters optimize their websites for Google Search.

Search engine optimization has on the other hand no rulebook where everyone could get the information needed to optimize the website for the search engines.

There are literary millions of opinions on how to do SEO right. Most have some optimization techniques in common like placing a relevant keyword at the beginning of the page’s title or acquiring niche relevant links from other websites.

But there are also many myths and half-true information that can get webmasters into trouble.

Google has released a SEO report card in pdf format which is concentrating on Google Product Pages but can be used for other websites as well. The main goals of the Google SEO Report Card are:

• help users find our pages more easily in search engines
• fix bugs that annoy visitors and hurt our pages’ performance in search engines
• serve as a good model for outside webmasters and companies

The report is divided into three parts:

Subject I: Search result presentation

Subject II: URLs and redirects

Subject III: On-page optimizations

<img

Experienced search engine optimizers will probably not find anything new in the listing but it can be very helpful for webmasters who just begin as a webmaster and those who want a straight answer from an authoritative source.

The Google SEO Report Card is <a

It is usually divided into onpage and offpage SEO. Onpage SEO describes the process of optimizing the website itself while offpage SEO describes all methods of attracting links to the website.

Most search engines do not talk about SEO. This has lead to an incredible amount of SEO related content on the Internet which is usually a mix of experience, rumors, false assumptions and guesswork.

In a somewhat surprising move Google published the SEO Starter Guide on their website. The guide concentrates on onpage SEO and mentions offpage SEO only briefly. Experienced webmasters will not find anything revolutionary in the pdf document which is clearly aimed at webmasters who never came in contact with SEO articles before.

It’s a good read for those webmasters. One thing that’s done well in the SEO guide is the screenshots that are tied to Google search results to show the effects of certain elements on the website.

No secrets are revealed in the guide but since it is only 22 pages it might be a good read for just about anyone.
