You enter a eBay keyword, select a category and a valid zip code. The map then refreshes showing a Google map with the locations of your results plus the results on the left as well.

When you hover your mouse over a location it shows some details of the auction, like title, price and end time.

Clicking on the title or an item on the right will bring you to the eBay auction.

Update:

One of the services that you can use to display eBay results on a Google map is Flippity. It is a free service that you can use to find local Ebay results in the United States, Germany or Canada.

All you have to do is to enter a search term and zip code on the Flippity start page and wait for the results to populate.

The mashup displays eBay items on the left and their seller’s location on Google Maps on the right. You can increase or decrease the search radius on the page, filter by categories or buy it now or new items only.

You can furthermore set a min and max price for the items that you are looking for or switch from thumbnail view to list view.

Some changes are automatically applied to the page while others require you to click on the search button.

A click on an item opens that item on eBay in a new tab in the web browser. One thing that you cannot change on the result’s page is the zip code. If you have made an error entering it you need to go back to the start page of the service and enter it again before you can search for items at that new location.

Flippity is an interesting service that combines eBay and Google Maps. It is especially useful for users who want to buy from local sellers, for instance from sellers of their own town. This is helpful if you plan to buy large items or want to save on shipping costs.
