I loved playing Quake and Quake II, it was a great game that was lots of fun. I enjoyed playing the game with my friends using serial connections back then. To my great suprise someone is porting Quake II to todays graphics standards, the gfx already look extremely good.

Could not believe it when I first heard about it. Someone ported the board game Risk to Google maps. When you start the game you see a worldmap and some lines drawn that are the borders. They look exactly like the risk game layout.

Tomshardware has an interesting article up where they try to build a ” reasonable gaming system that will get you through today’s game titles without breaking the bank for around $500″.
The machine won´t of course allow you to play the newest games in high resolution but thats not what one would expect from a computer that is cheaper than some top graphic cards models.
Lets take a look at the components they selected for the machine.
