I found a nice bookmarklet that lets you search lots of free file hosters at once. All you need to do is to create a new bookmark and add the bookmarklet code as the location in Firefox | address in Opera.

Once you click on the bookmark a small form opens waiting for user input. Just enter a search string and all file hosters mentioned in the Javascript will be searched for that string. The script uses advanced Google search parameters to find what you are looking for and you naturally could just use Google for the same results.

The advantage of the bookmarklet is that you just have to click a bookmark to perform the search which means less typing. Please add the following code in one line as a bookmark. Right-click the url and select bookmark this link. You can also copy and paste the code into the address bar to see how it works.

<span

While it is still possible to fire up Google and enter the search terms and site url manually it is far more convenient to automate the process.

This can be done with a bookmarklet called Free File Host Search (FFHS) available for Firefox and Internet Explorer. A bookmarklet is a piece of code that can be saved as a bookmark and can be used to interact with the user. In this case the bookmarklet displays a form when clicked in which the user can enter the search term he is looking for.

FFHS is simultaneously searching 22 file hosts for that file displaying all results in a normal Google result window. Included are the most popular file hosts such as Rapidshare, Megaupload and Mediafire.

<span

It is also possible to test it by left-clicking it on the authors page.

Read More:

<a
