One of the biggest additions is the ability to control and customize the icons that are displayed in the Firefox status bar, something that is not offered by default in the Firefox web browser.

Several Firefox add-ons utilize the space of the Firefox status bar to display icons, text and information which cannot be moved around by default. Total Toolbars makes it possible to move these icons around so that the icons and information are displayed in the order that the Firefox user wants them to appear.

<span

It is then possible to move the icons and information around. These customization options on the other hand are only one aspect of Total Toolbars. The add-on will also display a new context menu entry toolbar properties.

<img

This includes the view mode (icons, icon and text or only text), if the toolbar should be visible in full screen mode or if small or flexible icons shall be displayed. Even more important is the fact that these settings can be changed for each toolbar individually to mix the view modes of the toolbars.

Total Toolbars is available for download at the mozdev website. It is compatible with all versions of the Firefox 3 web browser.

Firefox Extended Statusbar

Browsing

Firefox

extended statusbar

firefox add-ons

firefox statusbar

firefox-extensions

Extended Statusbar is a Firefox extension that adds a few useful information to the statusbar. Opera users might feel comfortably right away because the functionality has been taken from that browser and was ported – or shall I say cloned – to Firefox by the developer.

The extension provides four additional parameters that are displayed in the statusbar of Firefox. The number of images and how many have been loaded, the page size in Kilobyte, the download speed in Kilobyte per second and the time it took to download the complete website.

The benefit of using that extension is the additional information that are displayed by it. The display works perfectly fine on my 1280×1024 resolution, it might be problematic on monitors running on lower resolutions especially if additional information and icons are put in the statusbar.

<span
