This is especially true if you want to post a file on a site that does not offer uploading capabilities, a comment on a web blog for instance. What you would have to do then is the following:

Find an appropriate host for the file. This can be self hosted web space or a file hosting service.

Open the file browser, locate the file on your computer and select to upload it

Grab the link to the file and paste it into the comment form at the exact location that you want it to appear.

This process becomes a thing of the past with Drag2Up for the Google Chrome browser. You specify an image, text and binary hosting services from the available selection. Once you have done that, you can use any web form on the Internet to upload files to those services. Even better, the extension pastes the link to the uploaded files directly in that web form.

This is for instance ideal for users who like to post images on Twitter or other sites. Open the extension settings with a click on the Wrench Icon > Tools > Extensions, and the selection of Options next to the Drag2Up listing in the extensions manager.

Just drag and drop the file hosts that you want to use to the appropriate sections on the right. Here is the current list of supported hosts:

Images: Imgur, Imm.io, ImageShack, Snelhest, Flickr, Picasa, TwitrPix, Twitpic, Twitgoo, Img.ly, Posterous

Text: Gist.Github, Pastebin.com, Mysticpaste

Binary: Checmial Servers, DAFK Up, Minus, Hotfile, Dropbox, CloudApp, Box and Droplr

The selected hosts are then used as the default storage services when files are uploaded via the drag and drop operations. All you need to do from that moment on is to drag and drop files that you want to upload to forms on the selected web page. Let me give you an example on how this works on Twitter.

Visit the Twitter web page, and drag a file from your computer to the What’s Happening form there. You will notice that drop files here is displayed on every form on the page automatically.

The file is submitted to the selected file host, and the resulting link to the file posted directly in the Twitter form. This saves you quite a few steps.

You may want to disable the “enable marketing” option in the extension settings to avoid advertisement.

Google Chrome users can download the latest version of Drag2Up from the official Chrome Web Store.

Neembu Uploader, File Upload Tool To Upload Files To Multiple File Hosters

Linux

Mac

Software

Windows

file hosters

file upload

java

linux software

mac software

Neembuu Uploader

portable software

upload files

windows software
<guid

This technique can for instance be used to offer a file for multiple users in short time, or as a backup if one file hoster deletes the file or lets it expire to early.

Neembuu Uploader is a straightforward program without bells and whistles. The Java application supports uploading of files to six different Internet file hosters. The supported hosters are easy-share.com, filedropper.com, filedude.com, hotfile.com, ifile.it and uploadmb.com.

To upload files, a user would simply pick a file from the local computer system and at least one of the six supported file hosters. It is alternatively possible to drag and drop files into the application window. That’s basically everything there is to it, and it really cannot get a lot easier than that.

File Upload

A click on Start Upload sends the file to all selected file hosters. The number of simultaneous file uploads can be changed right in the main interface. Users with fast upload speeds may want to increase the limit from the default limit of two.

It is possible to select multiple files at once in the file browser. These are then all added to the queue and processed according to the upload limitations specified in the program window.

Neembuu Uploader displays a file upload progress log that details file names and sizes, hosts, the upload status of each individual upload as well as the progress, and the upload and delete urls if available.

The file uploader keeps track of the files that are uploaded to the file hosts, and offers a history listing the relevant information.

The only other option available at this point in development is the ability to add a Hotfile account that will then be used to upload the files to that file hosting service.

Options are available to open selected file upload urls in the default web browser and to delete information that are no longer needed.

What’s missing? An option to export the available urls for starters, or the option to open a file url by left-clicking on its row in the file uploader. There are also no information on file hoster limitations, for instance if a hoster has a file size limit for uploads.

Neembuu Uploader Download And Compatibility

Neembuu Uploader is a Java application which means it requires a Java Runtime Environment. It works fine on Windows, and should run fine on other operating systems that support Java. The program is available for download at the Sourceforge project website.

Alternatives

Lots of alternatives are available, and we have reviewed our fair share of them. Among them File Uploader, a program that is currently supporting more than 150 different file hosts, the portable uploader <a

We just recently reviewed the client server application Akira which Dropbox users can install to issue remote commands to another computer system.

Maildrop is another application that extends the original functionality of Dropbox. The service basically allows a Dropbox user to send files to a Dropbox account by email which can come in handy in several situations like accessing the Internet from a public computer system or from mobile devices that are not suited for downloading files.

MailDrop is an application that expands the scope of Dropbox to the inbox. Now you can upload files to Dropbox by email. Any emails with the label ‘Dropbox’ will automatically be sent to the ‘MailDrop’ folder in your Dropbox. Now files can be put on Dropbox from your mobile device or from any computer without having to login to Dropbox.

Mailbox will automatically monitor a configured email account for incoming emails that use a Dropbox label. All attachments with a Dropbox label will automatically be placed into the Maildrop folder of the local Dropbox installation.

<img

A good security precaution would be to create a new email account for Maildrop that is exclusively used to send files to Dropbox.

The program comes with an optional mail filter that can be used to ease the upload process by moving emails with a specific attachment to the Dropbox folder.

Maildrop is available at the developer’s website. It is a portable application that should be compatible with most Windows operating systems.

File Upload Software

Software

Windows

file host

file hoster

file upload

portable software

upload files

windows software
<guid

They allow users to host files on their web servers which can be advantageous when distributing the files to multiple recipients. While some file hosts offer software programs to upload files to their web servers others only provide access to a web interface. The File and Image Uploader is a free software program that can be used to upload files to more than 150 file and image hosts. This is great for users who work regularly with different file hosters but also for those who use a file hoster that does not offer a software for uploading files.

The main functionality is easily accessible from the main menu. A click on the + icon opens a menu that can be used to add files or folders to the upload queue. The user has to select an appropriate file hoster from the pulldown menu. Several option settings are available including if an account should be used or if to large files should be split into smaller parts. It is possible to add multiple files or folders this way which will then all be added to the upload queue.

Accounts for websites that support them can be added in the program’s settings. The options contain a large amount of settings. Next to the account selection are different profiles, connection settings including proxy configuration and the removal of file hosts from the list of available sites. The program will upload two files at the same time which can also be changed in the options.

File Uploader is a portable software program for the Windows operating system.

File Upload Software

Software

Windows

file host

file upload

file upload software

file uploader

software program

upload files

windows software
<guid

It is usually faster than loading the website in a browser. Many software programs do also keep track of files that have been uploaded so that it becomes easier to manage the links that are created in the process.

File and Image Uploader (via Download Squad) is just one software program for that task. It supports the surprisingly large number of 70+ file upload sites on the Internet including the popular file hosters Rapidshare, Megaupload and Filefactory. It should also be mentioned that several premium services are supported as well if the user has access to a premium account.

It usually takes only a few clicks to upload a file to an image hoster. A click on the + sign in the software will display a file browser which can be used to select one or multiple files from the computer system. After that it is only a matter of selecting the right file host for the task to start the upload.

Premium account owners can specify that they want to use their premium account for the uploads. It is also possible to queue or pause the uploads and select to upload files or images. Possible restrictions of the currently select file hosts will be displayed in a form at the bottom.

The files will be added to the main interface and the upload progress will be displayed. The name of the file and the link to the upload host will be displayed once the upload has been completed. The embed codes of uploaded images will be displayed in the software as well. This ensures that all relevant information are displayed directly in the software program and that the links can be checked even at a later time. Parallel uploading is supported by File And Image Uploader.

DropBox Is Available For Everyone

Online Services

The Web

dropbox

file hosting

file syncing

file upload

files

rapidshare

sync files

DropBox was covered before at Ghacks and I recently had to check it out again because I needed a way to sync some files with a business partner of mine. Dropbox uses a combination of software client and web client which provide both access to the files unlike normal file hosts like Rapidshare who provide no way to sync files across computers.

The software client basically uses one source folder on the hard drive where all the files and folders are stored in locally. Uploading files is just a matter of moving files and folders into the Dropbox zone on the computer or by creating and editing files already in that special folder.

When the Dropbox client is running the files and folders will get automatically synced with the online client which keeps the most recent copies of the files and folders including file revisions. The web client of DropBox can be used to download or view files without having to run the software client. The client can also be used to upload new files to the service.

Dropbox currently has a 2 Gigabyte limit for every user which is definitely enough for many purposes. One of the interesting features of Dropbox is being able to share a folder with another person. It pretty much works the same as sharing a folder between different computers.
